quick q: im applying to booth scholars w a 710 gmat, which is slightly below average. i was extremely sick during the exam and couldve scored far better. should i briefly mention it in the optional info space?

Question on negotiating scholarship money. Do I need to send the actual offer letter from other schools? In general I have hesitated to do this for any type of job or work, so that people cannot see contingencies, offeror, etc.

Obviously schools are different and they might expect to see the school + $ amount, but want to be sure here -- would still hesitate to send out the actual letter.

If you don't want to show them the actual letter or in some cases some schools even have us sign an agreement not to disclose this, then you don't have to. I did negotiate successfully for a slightly better scholarship by telling them the truth about which schools gave me how much and the amount I hoped they'd be able to give me more. If they find the request reasonable and they have the funds available, you'll likely get some more $.

How does Re-Vera conduct their verification? Do they call or email?

Also, if I worked at my family business, how is that verification taking place? The same way?

They email, I'm currently going through verification but my status finally changed after 7 weeks to "In progress", hope that's good haha. If they can't find a number or contact for HR you will get an email for a specific HR contact. If they can't properly verify that the contact you shared is indeed HR they will likely ask for documentation on your part (contract, offer letter, paystubs, etc.).

Its pretty simple, yet since its a blackbox (No one knows what the process is really like behind the curtain) it definitely makes people anxious.

P.S. if there are any prior Booth admits who could confirm what the timeline was in your case I would appreciate it. I started the process in February but only heard from them until March. Haven't heard back since and my status changed today to "in progress", so I am wondering if they are almost done or just beginning haha.

No GMAT score will guarantee entry, its a holistic approach, so you need strength in every category and on some occasions work solid work experience, strong academics (exc. GMAT) and RECs are more valuable. That said the average is around 730 with a 740 median, GRE is around 325 total

R3 applicant here and I hope everybody good luck!
I also got a little situation of my own here: I already got admitted to (with merit-based scholarship) Booth Evening Summer 2022 before I submitted my full-time application for Fall 2022. The reason for that is I wanted to change to another industry and realized that it was very hard for me to do that with a PT MBA. I reached out to the full-time admission team and was told I could still apply for R3. Now the problem for me is that the deadline to respond to my offer is 04/29/22 while the R3 notification date is 05/22/22. My plan is to commit and pay my deposit first and withdraw to attend full-time if I can get in. But I am not sure if anything I mentioned above would cause any problem for me.
Any comment or advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have no clue what would be the best way to proceed but you should’ve been assigned an admissions representative or something, I would reach out to him and explain everything. I guess it also depends on whether you’re sure that the PT won’t give you what you want out of an MBA and so in that case it wouldn’t make sense to accept the offer?

Booth is pretty pivot friendly for PT; they are OK with you quitting your job to do an internship, one of my past clients is doing that now. If you are going for consulting they have a great track record of getting PT Boothies into MBB/T2. I do agree you should explain this whole situation to your contact for EW program WindySponge

You can always talk to admissions to get an extension, a couple of friends did that in R1 this year and paid their deposits about a week after the deadline
