Hey everyone,

Quick question - has anyone on the waitlist submitted a waitlist letter to the Admissions Committee (Adcom) to update them on their profile since submitting their application?

I’m considering sending one but wanted to get some insights from you first. If anyone has any experience with this or any advice to share, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, that’s possible. Booth has a "Shape the Class" form that students/alumni/faculty can fill in to support your candidacy

It’s best to stick to the waitlist instructions but if you’re really keen about sending a verbose WL update then I recommend checking with the adcom before sending one.

I Had on 21 April. It was received well by the admissions committee. They had also responded to me in under 12 hours.

Hello all,

During R2, I was placed on a waitlist. Since then, I have received a job offer from a Fortune 500 company and will begin working there soon. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to provide an updated resume because of this.

However, I still want to inform the admissions committee of my new employment status. Would it be appropriate to share my offer letter (which may be considered confidential) with the school, or is it sufficient to simply inform them of the job title and position?

Either is fine, but if it shows a bump in salary or title, why not include the letter. They have ppl share competing scholarship offers which is similar (proof containing personal info) congratulations btw.

Are there specific core values clearly defined anywhere on the website? "In your interactions with the Booth community, what is one of the core values of the community that resonates with you the most, and why?" Curious if anyone has an idea what they are?
When working with clients, I often center myself around the expression they used a while ago “bold, innovative leader“ they are much more centered around spirited debate than Kellogg. This recent paragraph is a good summary: “University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business is an institution for risk-takers, people who challenge the status quo, and people who dream big and do big things.”

Thank you for your insight and your congratulatory note. Usually the firms emphasize that offer letters are not to be disclosed. If I share the offer letter, is there a chance I get on the wrong side of both the school and the firm, provided the school contacts the representatives or the undersigned authority? Is it a risk to share the offer letter ?

yes I believe it is - IF it meets the specs I mentioned earlier. MBA applications are totally confidential and private. But if it stresses you out too much, you can mention the news and state you can send over the offer letter if they prefer.

Did the admitted candidates receive a ‘welcome’ mail either at the same time as or shortly after the status-update mail?

To answer your question:
People accepted off the waitlist have done various things. Some sent no updates at all, and others sent an update and an updated resume as Booth allowed. No one standard thing. If you are waiting and have not sent an update, it is recommended that you do that.
