Not a kira thing. A self recorded 1-minute video. Seems like they are huge into video essays, because they also have one for waitlist updates.
Thank you. Got it.
I ask people to submit a one minute video for product management internship applicants, and having done this for five years, I would say that the video has the biggest impact on my decision. It’s the first thing I look at and decide if it’s worth to look at anything else.
Here is why:
1. If someone submitted the crappy video, that means they didn’t even listen to it and didn’t test it which means they would be a crappy product manager
2. If they’re rambling and not able to coherently communicate a message, they will be a crappy product manager
3. If they are looking not presentable and didn’t bother to not be embarrassing, they will be a crappy product manager.
4. Did they take it seriously? If they did not take the simple ask seriously, how can I trust him with anything more serious?
PS. It’s enough to probably see about 5 to 10 seconds of a video for me to make a decision. I wonder if they have figured out the same thing 👀
