Calling all Columbia CBS MBA Applicants: Class of 2025 J-Term 2024

Throwaway2022MBA - checked with an interviewer from another school (not CBS but I would guess the process is similar, though that school was not on a rolling basis) and got lots of cool info. Here is the most relevant of it and why you get dinged after an interview:

File reading happens after the interview. File readers can go through interview form and combine that feedback into their overall evaluation

Basically you were not evaluated prior to the interview. They did a cursory read of your application and decided you were cool. Then they looked deeper and decided they were wrong.

Sorry for the cheap joke. I think we gotta make the best of all situations so I wish you the best of luck in your other apps. On my side, I personally did not realize this point for some reason and nobody has ever specifically explicitly pointed it out to me that they review your app after the interview.

CBS has now announced that it will start reviewing the round one applications. Any idea what percentage of seats generally are left unfilled after the early decision admits?

Also, thank you bb for your inputs on what goes behind the scenes with adcoms at top b schools. One of my friend with a stellar profile, a good interview, and an outstanding 770 gmat got rejected by CBS. She too has been pondering over what went wrong?

Hi guys, Does the school officially announce that it will start reviewing the RD applications? Safe to presume that RD applications will be read after ED apps are done away with.

I received email stating that they will start reviewing those on 16 Nov (received the same day)

Guys thinking to apply to Columbia in round2...i have a 730...what would be a safe score for an Indian applicant?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask if anyone in this group is aware of the general timeline to hear back from CBS or see any update on the portal after submitting the app in the regular decision round. I applied on 18th November, haven’t heard back till now.
