Can you share your success journey
Sure, hope it will help some people
I applied in R3 with Gmat 710, then got into wl.
- After improving my Gmat score to 730, I wanted to craft a really compelling update essay. Thus, I contacted some alumni and asked them to help me figure out the reasons I was on the waitlist.
- An alum reasonably convinced me that I was waitlisted because the school couldn’t see my commitment.
- My action plan was to contact more alumni and current students, ask them to let me put their names in my email, and also try to meet people from different countries and backgrounds.
- In the email, I also mentioned reason I applied in R3 is bc my gmat in R2 was just 670, and I was not confident to apply to Cornell with 670
- Besides, I had an offer from T30 school with 80% scholarship, but I am 100% committed to Cornell
So, I got the interview invitation two hours later
The interview went well
I got the offer few days later
I think my tip is to never lose faith even getting waitlist without interview
