Agreed… maybe a few years back I would’ve taken a shot, but now I wouldn’t want to go down the Consulting or IB path. They’re great careers, but also brutally demanding — and from what I’ve seen with friends in those tracks, they can really suck the life out of you. If possible, I’d actually prefer real estate over consulting or IB — it feels more tangible and gives me a better shot at balancing work and family, even if it means a slightly longer payoff timeline. And honestly, coming from the startup world, most of the consultants VCs have introduced me to never really made much sense to me.
That leaves just tech. Apple supply chain roles amazon pathways Doordash etc.

If you remove IB and consulting

https://www.clearadmit.com/2025/05/big- ... graduates/ I don't know how accurate this data is but it's a good read for this sector

As long as one lands a role in the U.S. before USCIS rules eat you, at least you’re earning in dollars and can chip away at the debt. If not, going back to the home country with that kind of loan is like carrying a Damocles’ sword. The only alternate hedge then is to line up a solid-paying role in the MENA region that can still support repayment without sinking you. Honestly, I’m almost more concerned about USCIS rules than the economic outlook — they’ve rolled out at least 6 major changes in just the last 2–3 months, and that kind of unpredictability makes planning way tougher than the job market itself.

True those risks seperate but I doubt anything major will happen US needs H-1Bs and F1s otherwise they wouldn't have started program.

Yeah exactly, there’s always Amazon Pathways since they hire in big numbers, but beyond that big tech doesn’t really run structured career fairs the way IB and consulting do—at least not at Cornell as far as I know. Feels a lot more fragmented and network-driven compared to those well-oiled pipelines.

I wish I felt that confident though... having seen enough extension delays and RFEs over the past few years, it’s hard to. My fallback plan is to switch from H-1B to F-1 by change of status, and later use H-4 EAD as a backup for work if sponsorship becomes too tough.

the things you have to do to get 10 15 good years in US corporate so you can retire back home and not have to open LinkedIn again 😅. But yes that is a good backup however with new H-1b changes coming i think if you get job in the big companies your H-1b will be pretty much assured given that now from september they will priortize salary over just random lottery or double lottery for masters grad approach so real challenge getting MBA then job now not visa hopefully

I think it’s best to cut it down. Adcoms could see this as unfair to others who stayed within the limit, and they might just ignore those extra words in review. Feels like an unnecessary and avoidable risk

I had a few words over limit, and was thinking that it can’t be that big of a deal (I was feeling lazy cutting down a few words xD).
But then I thought, well what if they think you aren’t attentive to detail, don’t abide by the rules, trying to cut corners etc you know what I mean😂
So, I made sure to stay within limit

You’re right — I’m already down to 367 words, so I’m almost there. I’ll tighten it over the next few days!No point taking on unnecessary risk

Oh, so it would be GMAT ID?

Makes sense, what a stupid question xD😂

I was looking everywhere in the menu and test results that didn’t even notice that whole section on the left.
Well, if anyone else needs it in the future, you know where to find it

Just screenshot on laptop of your test score with breakdown and put it in word. That’s how I did it

Yeah, I don’t think there is a way to include both. It only shows Appointment ID

You will send official score when admitted just like with transcript so it’s no a big deal

Is everyone else doing it the same way for gmat score?
   1  ...  10   11   12   13   14  ...  198
