Earlier this week, I had an early action interview. The interview was divided into three 15-minute segments:

- Walkthrough of my story 
- Why MBA & Darden
- Any questions for the interviewer

It was a pleasant, conversational interview, and the interviewer was genuinely interested in hearing my story and why I made certain decisions. Good luck to anyone who is interviewing soon!

For those who’ve already completed the Darden application, how much time would you recommend maybe needed to think through all the aspects of the application if we’ve a basic understanding of the school’s offerings?

I had my interview on Early Action last week (5 Sept) with Adcom.

Overall it was a great interview, but I feel like his expression is somehow flat during our discussion (maybe it's intentional because they are adcom? not sure). I feel like I talk a bit too long on the monologue (15 mins?)

He asked me quite deeply about my monologue and personal choice (e.g. how I transition to big 4 consulting, why MBA, etc.)

I applied using my EA score. My score is pretty low but hopefully some magic happens because I apply during early action and underrepresented. I hope...

I also had my early admit interview. It was with a member of the adcom and a current student, They were very welcoming and seemed excited to be there. Make sure to have your ID ready to show them.

Questions were:
Tell me about your background and why MBA
How would your colleagues describe your leadership style
What do you do for fun
Anything you wish we asked?
Any questions for us?

It was very conversational and the interviewers were attentive to my talk and responded with comments that showed that they really were paying attention to my stories.
I did talk a lot, but I feel like I was being myself and they didn't mind.

EA deadline is over but even then there is very little activity in this forum. Are there less number of applicants this year ?

It appears so. I can’t say for sure but the year over year comparison stats for the Darden forums are also a bit low.

It would be great to hear from all the Darden applicants in this forum :)

Can you comment and let us know if you have already applied for EA or planning to apply to Round 1,2 or 3?

About Early Action Interviews
All open interviews must be scheduled by 8 September (though we recommend scheduling as soon as possible given limited availability).

Your application must be submitted and the application fee paid by the deadline in order to be considered for admission.

Interview times are available on a first come, first served basis. More interview times will be added through September; however, interview times are limited. If you are not able to secure a spot at this time, please check back, as more times could become available.

You may be invited to interview following the Early Action deadline.

This is on their website. So I guess it is a waiting game now.

I did. Applied Sep/07, received an invite to interview Sep/13, interviewed Sep/23.
