You can find profiles of applicants in the decision tracker from the last year. It should give you an idea. However, I think there’s no set criteria for admission or denial.

A. EA sees un-proportional amount of ORM applicants

Or

B. If you are applying EA, and didn’t sign up for open interviews, they are tougher on you because of initiative not shown.

I think a bit of both. Also, it appears that on this forum there are many non-US applicants, and those individuals would most likely have to sign up for virtual open interviews, where space was extremely limited. I think those spots filled up by mid August so many international candidates couldn’t schedule an open interview even if they wanted to.

There are way too many highly qualified candidates here for there to be such a low interview conversion rate. Either this is a sample where all candidates are similar ORMs or the standard for an interview invite is something that almost none of us can meet.

I deleted my earlier post, so posting it again. Sorry for the multiple messages on chat.

I’m an Indian male reapplicant. Last year, I got an interview call at 680 in R1.

I feel this time; The AdComs are taking it slow in EA because last time, The AdComs took too many ORM in EA because of this, they could not offer admissions in R1.

So, This time they are waiting to see R-1(the R-1 date is 20 days after EA last time, Last year, the difference was approximately 40 days) apps too before making the Final Calls for the EA. That’s the only explanation I can think off, as many people with Brilliant Scores and Profiles are not being called for the interview.

Interview invites generally stop rolling one week before the final decision date.

Again It’s my hunch, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Does anyone know what profile in particular Fuqua is looking for in EA? It seems like so many qualified candidates are not getting invited to interview which is especially concerning. Any invitees willing to share their general profile?

760, Manager in tech- 5 years; deputy managing director in Financial services/ family business- 1+ yr
Tier 2 college in country- mechanical engineer
VC in two MSE startup - 30% equity
Ton of extracurricular
Tenured Mountaineer and graduate in classical music.
Applied with all this to the ED. Received no email to date!
Called the adcom- says we can’t declare the result on phone. Pls check email….. so back to square one! No change on the portal either..
Talk about the signs that the universe gives you to move on…..

Did this person submit their application in the EA deadline? As per my understanding, one could avail an open interview and apply in any round. So if they have not submitted or submitted post the EA deadline, they may receive communication accordingly.

Nope… not interviewed yet.. no update on the portal or on my email either..
wrote to them but believe they wouldn’t reply before Monday now.
