Does Haas EWMBA program have a single interview day (for a given round) for all interview invitees or do the applicants have the option to choose an interview date?

Hey, I don’t think there is one single interview date, rather it’s based on your availability

I applied for R2 on Jan 16 and the admissions committee received all of the necessary documents by Jan 27. Today marks the third week since I submitted my application and I haven't received an invite yet. It's getting stressful because as the days go by, I know it becomes less and less likely that I'll receive an invite. Does anybody know what percentage of applicants receive an interview? Also, for those R2 applicants that received an invite to interview, how did the interview go (assuming that you already interviewed)?

dlanderer to answer your question, only 20-30% of applicants are invited to interview. And out of those that are invited to interview, the people accepted from the interview pool is roughly 50/50 (technically 40-60%).

Don't be discouraged! When I visited, they said interview invitations are given on a rolling basis, even up until the decision deadline. So there's still hope! Heck, even if you don't get an interview, that doesn't mean you weren't accepted. Interview requests are usually for the admissions staff to get more clarity on a candidate that they either need more information about for assessment purposes, or to validate any suspicions, good or bad.

Hey, I totally agree, don't be discouraged. I interviewed two weeks before decision date, and was accepted!

Also during my interview, they mentioned admissions interviews nearly 90% of applicants. I think you're right, post-interview, you have a 1:1 odds of being accepted.

Good luck everyone!

Going by the self reported decision updates of GMATclub users, roughly 40% of EWMBA applicants receive interview invitation. And as jsmallwood82 and diverboy1988 stated, you have 50/50 chance of acceptance after interview. Do check our article Haas EWMBA - Admission Trends for more insights.

I live in the Bay Area and I interviewed on Friday for round 2. I was given the option of picking a 30 minute time slot from 5 different days. When I interviewed I only noticed one other person who was there to interview. I’m a re-applicant, and last year I was applying from out of state and they had a Saturday interview day for most applicants from outside of the Bay Area. There were close to 50 getting interviewed. This year I got an invite within a week of submitting my application. Last year when I applied from out of state it took over a month to receive an invite. Not sure if the delay is related to being out of state, but something to consider.

dlanderer a friend that recently graduated from the ewmba. He did not get an interview the second time he applied, and was accepted.

dlanderer absolutely sure. That is one of the main points they make when they talk about the interview. They said it in the two webinars I went to, they said it at the alumni panel I attended, and they said it at the diversity summit I went to. I don't agree with the previous 90% interview rate number that was given regarding interview invitations. Think about it this way - if 90% of applicants are interviewed and getting accepted after an interview is around 50/50, that would mean the class size would be much much larger.

Secondly, it's Haas. Much like Stanford, think about how many people apply. There's no way you can interview everyone that you end up accepting. Even Stanford with a much larger staff and more money can only interview around 60% of their applicants (they do 1K interviews per round or try to at least). So getting an interview at Haas is similar - it is either a little more or a little less than a coin flip (+/- 10%)

No interview means either you're a sure shot for getting in or a sure shot for not getting in, like a bell curve. You can determine what that means for you, since I don't know your academic or professional background. It's different for everyone. That's why I think the 30-40%% interview invitation rate is much more accurate. I can't speak to the percentage of people who don't get an interview and are accepted, but I can speak to the interview rate.

The EWMBA acceptance rate is 47.4%, so a 90% interview rate and a subsequent 50/50 admit of the interview pool roughly translates to that acceptance rate.

This is a 3 year old post, but Liz Rosenberg is still in admissions at Haas (personally spoke to her 6/15/17 when I first decided to pursue an MBA). Maybe this can help; it answers a lot of your questions straight from the horse's (er, bear's) mouth: https://mafiadoc.com/online-application ... 2b24b.html

jsmallwood82 I found the exact same thing in the following EWMBA podcast, but the 90% statistic was provided by my interviewer.
jsmallwood82 and dlanderer My interviewer also mentioned you MUST have been interviewed to be accepted. Just passing on what I learned in my interview. But as an aside, I had heard from blogposts individuals have been accepted without an interview, I just don't know how much faith to put into random blogs.

Best of luck to you all!

Thanks jsmallwood82

So, it looks like just over 4 years ago (November 2013) they interviewed the majority of the applications--2 out of every 3 applicants.
