Seems like the admission this year for HBS is extremely competitive

Maybe it is due to the streams of lay offs

Which is wierd, since laid off people wouldn’t top your profile...

Or maybe HBS is rejecting people who looks to have high chance or great fit for GSB

Does anyone know how accurate this is? I received an interview invite for GSB but received 'further consideration' deferral for HBS today.

It is not accurate at all, I just made up an excuse. But considering these days, GSB is tougher to get in and stealing better candidates from HBS, it might sound plausible? But more likely, its due to a school fit rather than one’s qualifications assuming a candidate is decent in most of aspects (GMAT, undergrad school, GPA, career).

From the accepted to enrolled ratio at GSB & HBS, there’s just a 100 seat difference in each from US news Ranking. But the likelihood of schools assessing fit is definitely plausible

My brother got into both so idk what to tell you on that front but you can observe data points on US news World report where the admit to enroll rate of HBS & GSB is pretty consistent and that can be a reason

May I ask your background? Thanks

For R2, is it possible to submit application and a gmat score first, and then submit another gmat score? Will the AO consider the 2nd gmat score?

Not a R1 applicant but wow its a bloodbath out here. People with such high scores getting rejected. Quite unnerving for someone like me with a 730.

i believe scores are not the most important

You need a "good enough" grade

Your CV and essay say so mucho more about who you are and what you´ve accomplished

the test scores just prove you are academically fit. just that

Absolutely, with most schools that attract more than 5000 applications each year, this is certainly the case.

If you look at it statistically and demographically, the pattern will become clear. And I always say that some schools do have the luxury to admit candidates who are statistically and profile wise a good fit.

And, yes, HBS is one of them.

Hi all! Congratulations to all who received positive news yesterday! If anyone who received R1 feedback yesterday could update the decision tracker it would be much appreciated! People just like us definitely rely on that data as they research schools and craft their applications! Thank you all!
