I’m preparing for the GMAT and aiming for a score of 655 or above. I’m torn between Manhattan Prep’s On-Demand Course and Manya - The Princeton Review’s Live Classes.

If anyone has prior experience with either of these options or can offer advice, I’d greatly appreciate it. Alternatively, if you’d like to connect with me directly, my email is bhaveknihalani@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you and getting some guidance on making an informed decision.

Hey guys! I have a quick question. In my application, everything is neat. I just made one error: the transcripts I uploaded were not properly translated by my school, and some course titles are still in French. My school is sending an email to the admission committee to clarify the situation. Do you think it’s a super big dark spot on my app?

No its not. If your school id already working towards rectifying the mistake, then HBS will have the info they need. In case they want further clarofications, you can be prompt about giving these.

Hey!

That sounds like a minor issue — definitely not a deal-breaker, especially if the rest of your application is strong and your school is proactively reaching out to clarify.

Admissions committees are used to seeing international transcripts, and it’s common for some course names to remain untranslated, especially from French. What matters most is that:

  • Your grades and academic history are clearly understandable,
  • There’s no ambiguity about degree completion, and
  • You’ve acknowledged the issue and taken quick steps to resolve it.

Since your school is directly contacting the admissions office, that adds credibility and transparency — it shows you’re being responsible and proactive. As long as the core academic content is clear (even if some titles are in French), this won’t be a major stain on your application.

Yes, someone we worked with did

BUT!!

Here are the stats-
- Celebrity style profile
- Multiple awards national level
- Basically a tycoon for the industry he worked in
- Strong names as VCs (large fund)

GRE was low, Work ex was a bit too high and overall rags to riches narrative in essays.

I think many of my M7 guys are like that. I work better with non-traditional applicants because there’s a lot of flexibility

So it’s possible.

Hi everyone,
I’m from India and have 3.5 years of work experience in the mining industry. I work as a Senior Engineer, mainly team handling, handling project planning and setting up underground machines.
I completed my graduation from a Tier 1 engineering college in India with a CGPA of 8.5 out of 10. During college, I was part of the organizing teams for cultural, technical, and sports festivals. I was also active in the LEO Club, where I worked as the Resource Head for one year and then as the Director for another year.
Can I apply for HBS with this profile?

Oh, anyone can apply with any profile. so you can definitely throw your hat into the ring.

However, your chances will depend on whether you are the best mining engineer in the country. If not then probably not great chances.

However, since it seems you’re just starting to think about it, usually chances do not favor applicants who haven’t done extensive research about the program. Try connecting with your college classmates who have gone to Harvard business school.(if none of them have, then that’s another hurdle). You can try the WAMC tool.
