the composite score looks good, what was the split (%ile)?
Quant is 88 (95th percentile ), verbal 83 (86th percentile) and DI 80(86th percentile?

The score is strong, Jyoti. The strength of the application will ofcourse depend on other aspects as well i.e. work-ex/ professional arc, ECs, post-MBA goals, etc.

I got a 675 in gmat focus today. Is this a good score for HEC?

Hello Jyotimishra,

This seems to be alright for HEC.

However, your chances also depend on your overall profile.

All the best!

Age has nothing to do with your score.
However, 32 is not too old for HEC.

Hey,

Hope you are doing well!

I was looking for applying for MBA (2024) in HEC and other European schools, I have a 710 gmat score and currently I have 2.5 years of Work experience in Deloitte(will be 3 years by the time I join) wanted to ask, if a less work experience as mine creates a problem during college placements? And also if waiting one more year to gain some extra work ex will make a considerable difference?

Thank you, appreciate any response if you get the time.

Hello Anish331,

Hope this finds you well.

European schools value years of experience. Your current years of experience are on the low side. Hence, you must definitely gain additional work experience before applying.

Thanks.

All the best!

Hello MBAinEurope,

Hope this finds you well.

No, 32 is not too old for HEC; the years of experience matter.

You have a very strong GMAT score; however, your chances will be dependent on your overall profile including your achievements at work and your future goals.

Thanks.

All the best!

Hi everyone,
anyone has an idea on HEC scholarship for their MBA program. What are the chances of getting the scholarship and in general what percentage of batch gets the scholarship ?

Hello ST_10,

Apologies for the delayed response

European schools are not particularly known to be scholarship friendly; however, meritorious profiles are often awarded scholarships by HEC Paris every year; it is, though, tough to comment on what percentage of the class receives a scholarship.

All the best!

No you don't need to put in 10th and 12th marks.

Here's my profile:
GMAT - 730
Undergrad GPA - 7.4/10
Undergrad degree - Electronics and Instrumentation engineering
College - BITS Pilani Goa Campus, India

Work -
3 years in analytics in a Fortune 50 retail company
1.5 years in product management in digital space in a company (based out of France) in the Luxury segment.

Post MBA goal
Tech roles in Europe, or middle East (if exists)

Given my profile and the fact that I'm from an overrepresented pool, what are my chances considering I'll be applying in round 6 (Jan deadline)?

StrawberryDembaBa - The GMAT score (assuming Q/ V split was balanced) and undergrad pedigree are strong.

Work-ex seems interesting, given the analytics/ PM and Luxury/ France angles. Any promotions within the roles, and did you interact with global teams?

While you belong to an overrepresented pool on the surface, highlighting key achievements in the roles, transferable skills, and having a strong narrative on how HEC fits in can help differentiate. Would also suggest having more clarity on post-MBA roles i.e. what domains/ functions within tech, which geographies within Europe etc. As Extra-Curriculars aren't mentioned, I'm unable to comment on that.

While we can't speculate on chances, R6 is not terribly late (HEC has 10-11 rounds per intake), if you go in with a strong application.

srijan_14: While your work-ex is on the lower side, GMAT score and GPA/ IITD pedigree are solid. Would like to understand your work-ex/ role better to assess the strength of the professional arc.

HEC does admit younger candidates e.g. with 3-4 years work-ex (as of joining) if other aspects of the application (i.e. pedigree, score, impact on the roles, essays etc.) are very strong. While R6 isn't too late per se, if you have the option to wait and apply for J'25, I would suggest doing so, particularly given the lower work-ex. This can help with increasing the odds if you apply in an early round.

Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out through the links below for a deeper chat.
