The typical tools to use to clear the wait list are from the most effective to the least effective:

1. Promotion at work.
2. Improved test scores.
3. And, supporting evidence to indicate that you were able to find a job after graduating, easily, such as additional research, speaking with a woman who had similar goals, and who can potentially vouch for you.
4. All the other crap such as letters of support from random folks, various online courses, etc.

No still yet to hear from admissions about R1
Still no interview invite? Gg I guess we are probably thrown out. Welp guess I am not quitting my job then 🤣

Fingers crossed 😬😬😬
PS. Once you find out how much money you need for school, travel, and living expenses, you’ll probably be working until the day before you have to fly out. 😂

However, it is a nice thing to take some time before the business school but it’s too early to talk about that yet. Let’s get an admit. 😇

Money is not an issue for me. I did not even apply for scholarship. I run my own business and make enough to pretty much lie flat until the day I die if I am not wasteful. MBA is like something I just want to study for kind of. It is like a life experience kind of thing. Bucket list.

Wow! Awesome. I think you should be high on their interest list. I’m not sure what you wrote for your career goals but entrepreneurs can be pretty attractive to business schools since they’re not going to be looking for a job after graduating. but of course the devil is in the details. 🥴

Thing is I am trash at selling myself. Where I work, LinkedIn is not really a thing so there is that. Plus, I do not really know how to write resumes since I employ myself. Then there is the terrible GMAT score XD. I barely studied since I am busier at work. The only saving grace is I am good at interview, I guess. It's basically conversations. I do that often with clients so there is that. I think everyone got amazing scores, crazy robust LinkedIn network and are just great candidates.

My takeaway from this article, IESE adcoms is deprioritizing GMAT in favor of a more cohesive approach. Pretty sure you'll do just fine.

For reference, my background is extremely unconventional (100% seed stage startups) so I wouldn't worry too much about that if I were you. Good luck!

Thank you for the encouragement man. The journey to MBA app is quite difficult. I do not have a quant background be it in school or at work. I am not in the professional field either so no LinkedIn or any "professional network." All I really have is experience in running a profitable business. I think MBA will be great, so I learn about the business field and maybe find ways to expand my current work. Not sure how things will turn out though since my app prob don't seem good on paper so getting that initial interview invite could be a stretch.

I think R1 interview invite deadline is yesterday. Though I am not sure if there is a backup due to the volume of applicants. Did you submit before the 11th?

Nothing yet. In an admissions info event earlier this month, An adcom member said that they would send interview invites ’by the end of this month’.
