Hi ISBMantra,

Hi ISBMantra,

The first stage selection is just a hygiene check and a candidate with a decent profile would normally get selected. Beyond that, though it is a black box, with no weightages officially communicated, typically about 25-30% goes to GMAT + Academic Scores (including college brand, GPA etc.), 25% to the interview and the remaining depends on the quality of the application, including essays, quality of experience, specific parameters such as international exposure, demonstrated leadership experience, career progression etc.

Just a few hours back I came to know that I have been called for interview in r2 of iim a , I didn't recieve the earlier mail as some how that mail went in to spam , so as I had so less time ( only 5 hours ) to write 2 essays and complete my resume , I couldn't write my essays that we'll , so what should I do , should I go for interview or not .also my GMAT score on which I have applied for iim a r2 was only 650 , although I have improved my GMAT score to 700 , will the adcom consider my upgraded score

Interview is much more important than the essays so 100% do attend the Interview. If you can ace the interview you will sail through.
Send the new GMAT scorecard copy to the pgpx office email address via Email and request them to take it into consideration.

Don't miss the interview. I had the same situation with the Gmat in r1. I called the pgpx office abt it and they said they wouldnt consider the new score if it was taken post the application due date. All the best

Did you end up going to the interview? How was your experience attending the interview at such a short time span? Honestly, sometime these type of situations work in favor of us. Going to the interview without much preparation will make you answer every question on the fly(no prepared answers) and that might work in your favor.

Sharing this because I think it can definitely help other Applicants, especially the ones like me - Male IT engineer with not a great GMAT score. However, I received interview calls from all IIMs (A, B, C) and have converted A and on the wait-list for B (top 3). While connecting with alumns on linkedin, when I was applying, I found this group of IIM alumni - AdmitReady (admit[dot]ready@gmail[dot]com). They gave me deep insights into my SOP, helped me with my resume and also the interview (mock interviews). I cannot thank them enough for helping me highlight my profile and skills to differentiate me. Just thought it might help others too. All the best for your applications!

My interview is scheduled on 16th of December at Bengaluru , and after recieving positive comments from the group members I have decided to attend the interview,although I didn't had much time to write the essays yet I will attend

I'm one of the admits from round 1 for PGPX, and am currently in the middle of deciding between my Indian and US offers (the PGPX round1 payment deadline is upon us)

Are any PGPX 2018-19 students active on this thread? cause I'd really appreciate a brief PM back and forth.
