Hi. I am a transitioning Naval officer with 15 yrs work ex by the time course starts in April. I have a very diverse background serving onboard ships, PM roles, Strategy roles at NHQ etc. I have a GMAT score of 700. IIMB was not my first choice considering the common awareness that it does not prefer candidates with higher experience. However, upon going through the placement brochures of past few batches, I realised that there have been candidates with 13, 15 and 16 yrs experience also. So taking a chance and applying in R3. Any views on this? What should I do differently other than a strong SOP and praying to God so that I get a shortlist?
You don’t need to do anything different. Just be clear on your goal for MBA and what value you bring to the cohort. IIM A/C/L prefer senior folks. All (incl IIMB) have students from the triservices in almost every batch.

Can anyone let me know if i should apply for IIM B EPGP in R3? My GMAT Score seems less and also I looked at the profiles of people who are studying in IIM B EPGP currently and previously. Many are from PSUs and Banks. 10th - 93% & 12th -95%, BTech - 80.5% from JNTU Hyderabad GMAT score is 670 (Q48, V35), Male I have a total of 6+ years experience (1.25 years in Oil Industry as an engineer & 4.8 years in a Health Foods D2C startup in Bangalore as Head of Revenue - Ecommerce). I shifted the role and industry because of my interest in Sales & Marketing. Have consulted a D2C brand in their Revenue & Marketing (Didn’t receive any pay for this. Should I include this?) My short term goal is to work in a Growth Stage startup.
Should you apply: Yes
Can the pro-bono consulting be included: Include it, but not in "work experience". Have it as an extra-curricular.
