Hi Guys,

I'm looking to apply to ISB for 2021 intake. I'm planning on taking the GMAT exam by December, would it possible to submit application in R1 without GMAT score? Because right now home exams/ center exams are stalled?

You have to submit the score by Oct-31 for Round 1.

Thanks

I just spoke to the admission team at ISB to clarify the below questions related the latest update on deadline extension for submitting the GMAT/GRE score. I am sharing the details of the conversation.

Q. What's the procedure to apply for the request?

A. Send the request preferably 2 days before the deadline to ISB at pgp@isb.edu along with the valid supporting documents. Only once the request gets approved, go ahead to fill the Test Score section in the application form.

Q. While it is instructed to fill in a blanket score as 800 for GMAT and 340 for GRE under the Test Score section, what to enter in other mandatory fields such as that of GMAT/GRE test date, sectional scores and their percentiles, When did you request PearsonVUE?, etc?

A. Enter any date in the date fields and maximum figures under fields such as score or percentile, etc. As long as your request gets approved and you enter 800 for GMAT or 340 for GRE, we know that you have requested for the extension to submit the score, so it doesn't matter what you enter in the other concerned fields.

Q. If an applicant requests for the extension, is he/she required to submit the new score?

A. No. In case the applicant doesn't get a satisfactory score, he/she doesn't necessarily have to submit the new score.

Q. Those applicants who already have a GMAT/GRE score but are working towards increasing the score, can they apply with the current score but at the same time request for an extension and then later submit a new score?

A.Yes, but such applicants will have to first take the approval. Later if the applicant fails to get the target score, then he/she can submit the current high score.

Q. Will the interviews be rolled out only after the GMAT/GRE score is submitted?

A.Yes

I hope this information was helpful.

Does the last question mean all interview calls will start after the deadline of Oct 31 or is it specific to candidates submitting score later?

Hi,

While applying for round 1 (deadline Sept 20), are we required to submit essays and recommendations too? or can these also be submitted in later point of time when submitting the score (Oct 31).

Hi Niha01,
Only the scores can be submitted after the 20th Sept deadline. Rest of the application should reach ISB by 20th.

Hi,

I have already written to ISB about being granted approval for submitting the GMAT score before 31 October but have not heard back from them. How long do they usually take to revert? Help would be most appreciated!

Hi there!
If you have written to them recently, I'd say you wait for a working day or too. They must be getting inundated with such requests. Else you can always send out a reminder mail.

Btw that's one dope username

Hi guys!
Some useful information from my email correspondence with ISB

I) Should a candidate submit a request for a deferred test date, is he/she mandated to submit those scores only? I ask this in the context of people already having valid GRE/GMAT scores but looking to improve on them. In the event of them being unable to improve on their existing scores on the new test day, can they submit an existing score?

1. Please submit a dummy score (800) instead of the existing scores.

2. If the new test scores are low compared to existing scores, please write a mail to pgp mentioning both the scores and we shall consider the highest score mentioned by you.

II) Would an appointment confirmation be required submitted in the place of the unofficial test score document in the application? If no, what should an applicant submit in that space?

In the upload document section, upload the approval email from ISB or the test schedule notification.

III) What should be the entry for the date of test score submission to ISB?

Please mention the application submission date.

IV)Would an interview invite only be rolled out after the valid GRE/GMAT scores have been submitted?

Yes, after submitting the scores.

V) Finally the email says that "Please know that we would be conducting rolling interviews, and therefore, an early submission would get you an early decision on your candidature".
Does the decision here mean that the final decisions would also be rolled out on a rolling basis? Or does this refer only to the interview invites?

Yes, the interviews and the final decision is a rolling basis.

sudarshancr, the interview decision will be rolled out on a rolling basis but only after ISB receives the complete application, including the GMAT/GRE score.

After you submit your GMAT/GRE score, you will be considered by the Adcom for interview invitation. The window for doing that is 31 Oct 2020. Since people would be submitting their scores in scattered manner depending on their scheduled GMAT/GRE, they would be considered on a rolling basis for interview and subsequently their final offers would also be on a rolling basis.

Hope that helps!
