Hi Mangs1297, overseas education consulting is a very niche field and it will be very difficult to find a person with exact match.

However, regardless of your field of work, the overall profile, career growth, and (of course) GMAT, all contribute to taking you to the other side of the finishing line!

Difficult..you’ve got to have some other massive ’spike’

Hi, I complete 2 years of work ex on July 15th. If I resign after that, will it affect my selection in ISB?

I believe there are just 2 possibilities if you quit your job- unemployment or a new engagement (job or entrepreneurship).

Unemployment may not be desirable for several reasons- weakens the work experience, tough to find another job as the admission decision and start of the program is still far.

Starting something new may not give you enough time to do justice to the new engagement and can potentially weaken the work profile.

However, you may have something genuine that could be explained without weakening your overall profile, but not enough information here to go by.

Either way, you will definitely have to answer your motivation to leave the job and how it ties into your overall journey from current job to ISB to post MBA goals.

If you have another better opportunity, then go for it (bird in hand). You’ll still have your current / previous roles to establish your candidature and the new one to show that you’re getting a step closer to your goals. Adcoms won’t hold it against your candidature. If you are looking to take a break, don’t just think from an admissions perspective but also be mindful of the placements once you are at ISB. Almost a year’s gap will not bode well for those. In any case, don’t think of ISB as THE goal, it is a STEP TOWARDS a Northstar. All the best with the decision-making. Feel free to reach out to discuss

What is a safe GMAT score for ISB?

Hi Parth. There is no per say safe score. Based on the quality of your profile and your application, you might get accepted with a 660, and might also get rejected with 750. With anything above 710, rest assured you will not be rejected only on the basis of GMAT score.

It depends on how well you compensate for the low GMAT score with other sparks in your profile. The fact that you have good undergrad scores would give an indication to ad com that you are up for the academic rigor of the course. In case you have received multiple promotions at work, or lead a team to create a major impact on the organization, you should highlight them.
