Hi all. Wanted to ask this group about ISB placements for people with ~8yrs of work ex.

i have close of 8yrs of work ex and am planning to apply in R2

Does anyone know how is the placement for 30+ yr olds (10% of the batch) at isb? The adcom does mention that there is a special executive placement committee for students with higher work ex. But they don’t give any specific stats for placement of 30+yr olds

HaleEndMBA, also the post MBA job role you wanna have is extremely important too before going for ISB. They have not mentioned the age group of the particular field of placements on their website.

is 700 is a good score for ISB?

Also, they are asking current manager and HR manager contact details , i don’t want to disclose my mba plans in my company. This is such a bad situation for me. Is anyone experiencing the same issue OR any alternative here?

They won’t be contacting anyone, just the one you are mentioning as your recommendor.

Do you think you can improve your score? If yes do it. If not than apply

HR would only be contacted in case you are selected. So I guess that won’t be a problem

You could just ask stating some other reason or just saying that you’d like to have it case of emergencies. Don’t overthink it

Hi, I have a very off topic question I guess: what is the repurcussions of applying to a college and getting rejected? How does it affect the next year application of the same candidate? (Say he or she applies again with a better score+improved profile)

Same with manager. Both of them will be contacted, if at all, after you will get your selection just to check you didn’t fake your work ex. That’s it.
At that stage you any way would be leaving your company.
LOR is also supposed to be by your current manager. It can be a problem for you. For LOT you can go to your last manager or any other person who knows you well in professional capacity. Do mail the Ad com once to double check your unconventional recommender

I don’t think it affects much. It’s just that you would have to show what changed in last one year if they rejected you. Also you won’t be able to fake or change any detail as you have already submitted your application last time
