A couple of Bombay interviews were conducted in December as well. Ideally last year the results were out within 21 days of your interview. I don’t think ISB is following a similar pattern this year.

I just got this response from the ISB admission team after I reached out to them:

-------------
Thank you for reaching out to the ISB Admissions Office.

We won't be able to update you on this as of now as your application is still under review. If shortlisted, you will receive an update 5-7 days prior to the interview.
-------------

Does this actually mean my profile is still under review, or this is a generic reply they send to everyone until the rejection mail is shared?

Re: Calling all ISB PGP Applicants: 2024 Intake Class of 2025 [#permalink]
Hi guys. Good morning and happy new year.

I was looking for an advice from the consultants or the experienced people here. I got dinged at isb in R1

My acads are 10- 88.5, 12- 67.8, Grad - 82.5, gre 332

So, I was thinking that class 12 score can be one of the reason for the ding, and although the gre was decent, it was unable to cover it up

So, I was planning to prep for GMAT focus now and planning to write it by March April and target for a 750-770 equivalent score

So I wanted to know if you think it’s a good idea to do this or you feel score can’t be the reason and it’s something else

P.S: I know trying for a better score always helps, but preparing for GMAT from scratch is demanding both physically and financially, hence trying to gauge how much it’ll help

I think GRE 332 is great score and giving GM<AT won’t help much.
You might have been rejected based on your interview experience if you were shortlisted. hoeever if not, I would recommend to improve your profile both professionally and in extra curricular aspects. Hope this helps!

I had spoken to an alumnus and he mentioned that upon rejection in the interview, the candidate are sent a rejection email stating the points that did work in their favour. But this detiled email might take a couple of months.
Not sure how the logistics work

I was rejected in R1 of last year’s intake (Nov’22/Dec’22) and I can confirm I did not receive any email explaining why, except for the standard rejection email sent out to everyone on the day of the results (stating that the decision was made after looking at overall profile, acads, and interview performance). I had messed up my interview pretty badly so I wasn’t surprised, but I did not end up emailing adcom to find out details as I was informed that they don’t necessarily share details of what within the interview might have led to the rejection.

Oh, interesting
The alumnus I spoke to is an older one. Then probably they must have followed this practice previously.

No you could be right as well ; just that one might have to mail them separately for feedback on the rejection, which I never ended up doing (based on what I’d heard). We probably have to check with someone who was rejected and who actually did end up emailing ad-com separately for feedback on the rejection, and see what they might have received back (if at all)
