Hi HimJindal,

Your background as a Chartered Accountant as well as your experience with Deloitte will prove to be value-adding. However, for you to stand out, aim for a stellar GMAT score. We would definitely recommend a 665/675+ keeping in mind the competition that is anticipated but the higher your score, the better it is going to be.

We encourage you to inquire with us so we can schedule a free strategy session for guiding you.

Thanks and all the best!

Experts' Global

All the best!

I am a May 2023 qualified Chartered Accountant in my first attempt. Post qualification I joined Deloitte USI in their external audit department. I have 2 years of post qualification experience.
I have also done my graduation from University of Delhi in 2020 with a 8.07 CGPA.
I scored 95.5% in 12th standard and a 10 CGPA in 10th standard.
How much GMAT FE score should be a good score to get an interview invite?

Hi dhruva09,

Your stable career trajectory, leadership experience, client-handling abilities, and international exposure can help you build a solid narrative.

Yes, the CGPA is a potential red flag but with a 685+ on the GMAT, you should be able to offset the low score to a large extent. Of course, that you need a set of compelling essays is a given.

We encourage you to inquire with us so we can schedule a free strategy session for guiding you.

Thanks and all the best!

I am a 2020 engineering passout from a tier 2 engineering MU college. I have had poor academics. 10th - 72%, 12th- 56%, Engineering- 6.6 CGPA (This was a phase where there were family related issues at my end. Not an excuse for the bad performance).I have 4 and a half years of experience in IT. 3 years with NSEIT, where I joined as a trainee and later was a team lead managing and automating production set-up for National Stock Exchange. Currently I am working with UK based monitoring solutions company ITRS as a managed services consultant and managing a client in India solely. I hold certifications of AWS solutions architect. Extracurricular activities included me being secretary for the E-cell of college. During school days, I was part of the handball team. Can someone please confirm if I can have a shot at ISB with a strong gmat score, and if I do, what would that score look like ?

@WA@stx2267 - the rationale for job switches can likely be covered during the interview.

Having said that, you could also strategically use the essays to bring out intellectual experiences in your roles, how they prompted your career moves, helped you grow overall and motivated you to pursue an MBA at this juncture.

Some tips and insights on how to tackle the ISB essays are here.

Reg. GMAT, a 675-685+ would be ideal.

Hi Sunny_1212,

Below is a brief summary of your profile evaluation:

Your rich experience with firms like ZS and Novartis, combined with strong academics (93%/90% in 10th/12th and 86% in B.Tech IT), makes your profile well-aligned with ISB’s class mix. While your 8+ years of experience place you slightly above the school’s average range, ISB values mature and diverse candidates. A GMAT score of 645+ is advisable, with 675+ further strengthening your chances.

Best wishes!

Hi, I need a profile evaluation. I am a business analyst with 8+ years of experience. Worked with Pharma consulting firms like ZS and a couple of Pharma companies like Novartis. My 10th/12th is from CBSE with 93% and 90%. B.tech in IT from private college with 86%. Should I target ISB other colleges given a higher work exp. Also what will be a decent GMAT score that I should aim for?

If you are applying only to ISB, there is no need to place an order for transcript.

Hi everyone, I need some help with a profile evaluation 🤞. Here are my details:
- 10th: 96% (Aligarh Muslim University)
- 12th: 85% (Aligarh Muslim University)
- BE (Mechanical Engineering) with a minor in Finance from BITS Pilani
• CGPA: 8.1
• Internship at Deutsche Bank
• Cleared CFA Level 1
- Work Experience: 3+ years across 3 companies
• Started as a Business Analyst at a gaming company - 1 year
• Became founding team member of another gaming startup (eventually shut down) - 8 months
• Currently working at an audio entertainment company for 1.5 years. Joined as Product Analyst, promoted to Senior Product Analyst
- GMAT Focus Score: 645
• Gave it twice, but won’t be able to improve further due to low Verbal score
- Additional experience:
• Volunteered with CRY (NGO) for 2+ years
• Running a side startup with 10K+ installs on the app
• Held multiple leadership roles in college (like department representative, etc.)

Looking to understand:
1. What are my chances for the programs?
2. Any areas where I can improve to strengthen my profile?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for this information. What are your post-MBA goals? These will play a role in understanding alignment of schools.

Academics are good. Any extracurriculars that you can talk of? Also, the rational behind career jumps needs to be clear.

Current extracurriculars*

Thanks, while I plan to stay in the tech industry, I’m mostly planning to switch from analytics to product management post MBA. I can easily justify the rationale for this shift if needed.

In terms of extracurriculars, I’ve been involved in a few small things, but nothing significant enough to highlight.

Do you think my GMAT score might become an issue for a college like ISB?

645 should not be a detterent from applying. However, you have to ensure all aspects of the application right from LORs, essays, to even the resume tie-up.your profile has a lot going on what with the cfa, startups in gaming, and audio entertainment. Your Story should be coherent and thematic
