if you did this Articleship before completion of B.Com then you should write it as an Internship experience.

Hi, thanks for the response, but the question is that articleship experience is MANDATORY to be entered as a part of ISB application. At the same time, it CANNOT be entered along with BCom which is my full time education. So what to do in this case?

CA articleship and BCom degree are done at the same time. So there's a paradox there.

I already answered it

Articleship will be considered an Internship which many do during their undergrad.

Yes agreed. In fact, the application has a separate checkbox titled 'CA Articleship' in the work-ex details. 😊

However, the question is how to enter it in the application, in case anyone knows. This is the error it gives while entering the Articleship details, sine articleship years clash with BCom degree years.

If your essays and resume a ready and you need just a review of your structure and grammar, chatgpt or perplexity should suffice
I want to make sure there are no obvious mistakes in the essay and want to make sure essays make sense

Profile review:
* ~3 years of work experience in Strategy Consulting with EY-Parthenon: one promotion, 3 awards for performance
* B-Tech - IIT Madras (CGPA - 8.2)
* GMAT FE - 645
* Was one of the founding members of an NGO during college. Currently working with another NGO as pro bono consultant. (~5 months)

Should I improve my GMAT score? Not sure if I will have time for prep before R1 considering I am just starting with other parts of my application. Hence would you suggest applying in R1 with my current score, or improve the score and apply in R2 given that I am also looking for an admit with scholarship? (Given that there is a better probability of getting a scholarship in R1, but my low score being a hindrance)

Was scoring in the range ~675 to 705 during mocks - so I will try to improve my score before R1 deadline.

Would really appreciate inputs. Thanks

Take GMAT and improve score

Apply in R2

Why compromise chances when you can apply with better chances of acceptance...

Hi @GMATinsight .. I also tried pushing for the R1 deadlines. But sadly couldn't. Now planning to take the GMAT in first week of September and apply in R2. Does R2 have any impact on the chances of one getting admitted? A lot of my acquaintances who have gone to good schools say that it doesn't matter whether it's R1 or R2.

The difference between R1 and R2 is not worth conpromising chances

So I have no dilemma in making this suggestion to you.

Worst case scenario: your score doesn’t improve even then R2 would have no penalty for you.

And it’s hard to say whether chances are brighter for R1 applicants.

Last year there were surprises such as a few good candidates got dinged in R1 while candidates with scores 615 were admitted in R3

The word on street (can not be validated) is that the admission committee was too confident and rejected good candidates in R1 (and didn’t even waitlisted them) assuming better candidates are in store in R2 and it backfired for them

The process of application more of *Leap of faith*

So plan as best as you can and apply with as much thrust as you can generate in your application 🙂

Hello, requesting a profile evaluation by experts on the forum. Thank you

Age: 29, Male

Academic details:

10th %: 70.55% - Maharashtra State Board (SSC)
12th %: 71.08% - Maharashtra State Board (HSC)
Undergrad CGPA: 5.65 on 7 scale - Tier 2/3 college in a Metro City
Chartered Accountant (NOT a rank holder)
CFA Charter Holder

Work Experience:

3 years - CA Articleship at a Big4 in Taxation (2.5 years of this was after completing graduation) - I have worked with multinational clients & expats here for India taxation compliance & advisory
3.5 years - Investment Banking at a Big4 (After completing CA) - Worked on USD 1bn.+ deal value

Extra-curriculars:
Honestly I haven't been involved in any great extra curriculars worth mentioning on a regular or consistent basis

I had appeared for GMAT last month but did not score a great score. I am planning to take it again in a few months after being more confident around my prep. My post MBA goal is to continue into finance sector maybe try for bulge bracket IBs or get into buy-side roles (Preferably money management roles)

I am aiming for ISB & I am also open to MBA options in UK & USA (I know the economy is tough out there, but I wanna keep the options open)

Any help on evaluating the profile from ISB POV will be much appreciated & additionally help in highlighting on what are those 2-3 core pointers that are missing from my profile that I could gain over the next 1 year to strengthen my profile.

Thanks much!

Hi there!! I am a 26F planning to apply to ISB next year. My profile for evaluation: 10th ICSE 95% 12th CBSE 89% Bsc Life Sciences from Delhi University 8.9CGPA. Did a few volunteering work in NGOs. Been working in sales for the past 4 years for a USA based Med Tech Company.

My target score is 715+.

What are my chances for ISB?
So I forgot to add that I have started volunteering with Teach for India in Mumbai slums. Will that help in my application next year R1?
