Hi, I also took top one percent classes, but finding some issue to apply the octaave theory, it would be reason great if you could help me by showing how you apply it.
Let me know if you need any help in quant, happy to help.
Thanks
It was difficult initially to understand what is written but I went extremely slow, followed the pattern of excel Sandeep has given. Solved passages he has given, then watched videos, again with videos solved questions, with each question went back to octaave theory and applied logic of octaave, with this slowly slowly octave fits in subconscious

Also watched RC awareness

I have not completed RC yet, still studying but overall good with RC, most importantly I went slow, didn’t move further till I understood

3 hrs lectures took me 9 12 hrs to complete

Gmat point is also an option for 15 tests

But i havent tried those
They are very bad... don’t consider those tests if you want to do justice with gmat prep...

Can anyone help me in identifying resources for mock tests, I need around 50 mock tests for preparation
thoughdidn’t ask but I think 50 is too big a number for mock tests..

- 12 official tests (keep them for the end
- 15 Experts Global tests
- 15 GMAT club tests

Any tests other than them might harm you more than help you

Just want to know how my chances look for ISB round 2.
GMAT: 615 (Q: 81, V:85, DI: 76)
CGPA: 3.36/4 NMIMS (BSc Finance)
Work ex: 7 years, Debt research analyst, worked with US hedge funds in the start of my career, have been covering the healthcare sector from the last 4 years in the debt markets across US and Europe, while working for a US based debt fund.
10th: 87%
12th: 90%
Extra curriculars: In event organizing at school and college, know how to play a few instruments, no certification for it though
Hi LittleKidLover96, The work experience is rich in debt market which is valued. The academic scores are good. Extra curricular is okayish. But GMAT needs good improvement. It will be good if you can get around 655+. It will not be easy to get in with 615. Best Wishes

Hi ananyashesh99, Your academic scores are good. The graduation from DU is considered good. Life Sciences bring a fresh perspective to MBA colleges, and admissions team like people from varied educational backgrounds. The work in sales in Med Tech is not at all an easy task, so you will get lots of story points from your career. The target score is more than enough for you to get into ISB. If you can, please try to get some extra curricular credentials as the college experience may not be that relevant by the time you cross 5 years of work experience. Best Wishes.

Do b schools use ai checker for essays ?

I am sorry for asking this so frankly . I have used ai to summarise the whole paragraph in order not to exceed the word limit . Will that be a problem ?
As per my conversation, Bschopls don’t use AI detector but the AI language can be perceived without it as well.

It’s good to bring AI score as low as possible.

All applications of my candidates submitted for IiM B had zero AI score while there was use of AI in intermediate stages...

You should just know how to bring it down and for that the last draft should be edited manually...

Hi - Please let me know what’s the safe score for me for GMAT to get in ISB and what other things I can do to improve my profile.

I currently have one year of experience in a growing startup - will work for another year here to get 2 year of work experience.

I have graduated from Delhi University with 8.257 CGPA in Bcom honours

Class 12th - 97%
Class 10th - 92.2%

I have interned with startups like Swiggy, Unstop, and a few other small startups.

I was a part of Placement cell of my college and co-headed one of the verticals. I was part of commerce society as well.

I have worked with Teach for India as well (but don’t have volunteer certificate)

I have co-authored a research paper and that got published in a well known journal. Have even won national level and intra college competitions for this research paper.

Actively participated in Case competitions during the college. Even taught tuitions as side income.

CFA L1 cleared.

Please help me what else should I do to improve my profile to get in and target score.

See what HBS says about the test:
Making my point through an analogy if it makes sense.

Every company worldwide says that they have no preference against and particular gender while identifying talents.

But in ongoing real process, it depends on discretion of selectors and the biases of selectors are always in play.

Please be real... everything on papers is not everything in reality.

Be part of selection committee personally and then you will have this enlightenment. 🙂

I can 100 more evidence to prove my point but I respectfully decline to give any heat to discussion.

Hi annie11, You have got a really well rounded profile. The publication and appreciation of your research papers show a great degree of reasoning capability and detail oriented approach to your work. Being in placement cell and having interned with known startups already have given you a good sense of what is required to excel in corporate. Academic marks are great and DU is well recognized.

You will be working in a startup for 1 more year, hence you will gain accelerated learning. All these when combined with CFA L1, puts you at a very competitive level to get into ISB.

Suggestions : a) Since your work ex will be on lower side, aim for 675+ b) If possible, try to do things that will align with your future goal (meaning answering this question in next one year - with CFA and start up experience, where you will head to and what you have done till date for that) c) If you find time see if you can get certifications on some extra curricular.

Best Wishes

- Clear CFA L2
- Take up some community service for real
- Get a GMaT score beyond 675

being in least experienced pool requires outperforming on every other parameter
