I am targeting ISB. Have started prepping for GMAT. Was planning on signing up with a ISB consultant. However, I read a post from another consultant on Reddit that candidates should consider hiring a consultant only if the candidate already has a GMAT/GRE score or at least the candidate has an idea thru mocks how much the candidate is likely to score.
The thing is that I am only getting in 550s right now in my mocks right now and so, I am thinking that there is no point in working with a consultant at this stage. Is this the correct approach or am I missing something?
_Disclaimer_: I am an Admission Consultant
I think the suggestion made on Reddit is well-intentioned and accurate for many people who are uncertain about their ability to perform well on the GMAT.
A person should hire an admission consultant
1) When you have a valid GMAT score based on which ,the list of target school with your chances can be assessed
2) When you are sure that you will be able to cross the minimum threshold GMAT score required to apply in that school.
Since, ISB has two more deadlines which are 06th Dec and 14th Jan (As I remember). So you don’t need to rush to hire a consultant till you are sure that you would be able to cross minimum mark
Now comes a question which is *Whats the minimum GMAT score for you?*
Answer: There is no fixed way as ISB has accepted score from 595 onwards. However based on your profile and career progression and other application factor, It’s possible to approximate what is minimum score at which it makes sense to apply
So share your profile in detail and let me answer that question for you. DM me
