I think it's safe to say that the date changes mean nothing at this point.

There is no reason for them to look at my app if I've been dinged all through the weekend. And the fact that so many are seeing changes means that it can't possibly be "admit checks."

The date changes may have meant something at one point, but I don't think they mean anything now.

I think this is the most plausible theory. The date changes are probably just a clock-counter which will keep updating till the 17th - the day it is triggered to release the results.

Though it still doesnt explain those cases who have seen no date-change at all.

New theory to rule them all - Folks with a video essay date stagnant at 12/12 are in the admit pool!

The 3 of you with the 12/12 date are 2 JDMBAs and a 1yr. So you are probably in a different "pool" than the 2Y applicants.

Date changed to 12/15. Last I saw, it was 12/12. For people talking about it being a glitch, even glitches have a pattern and that pattern leads to theories proposed by trivium and others....

I think at this point it's worth mentioning that the speculation on video essay date changes implying admissions decisions was mostly made for fun. I don't believe anyone suggesting his or her theories is very confident that the date changes will actually correlate to an admission decision and that they identified that correlation... they were just taking a guess based on the small sample of patterns available.

I'm guessing we're all on the same page, but hopefully new readers see this and settle some nerves! Good luck to all.

To my understanding the process is the same as the 2Y.

From a Twitter chat on the 1Y--
Q: Is the program more or less competitive?
A: No. Applicants to specialty programs often think this is the case, but we recommend applying to the program that best fits your needs.
