Absolutely not! That will give you a direct entry into Kellogg. But you want to give a fair chance to others as well right?

Referring back to an older post: Kellogg does not read apps until after the interview? That does not make sense....

Pretty sure that's how they do it. Why doesn't it make sense? I've completed Tuck and Duke interviews already this year before I even submitted my apps. They don't need to see what you have written to get to know you.

That would imply that my application would sit there untouched for 3-4 weeks after the deadline without adcom reviewing it. I would think they would at least read it a few times and get a good idea of whether I'm an admit/reject and use the interview form as an added component when that is completed.

Just swop "after the interview" with "the GMAT score is received" in that sentence and it'll make sense. The interview is just another piece of the puzzle that they want to see from all (or as many as possible) candidates, instead of only high-potential candidates. Kellogg is collaborative wants to know the candidate just as much as they want to know your GMAT. In fact, it means they are more likely, than some other schools, to admit a person that does well on the interview but has a less stellar essay/GMAT/etc.

They aren't just twiddling their thumbs, they're busy conducting interviews.

I thought waivers were only for people in very remote areas. People in the US and major cities shouldn't be getting waivers should they?
Actually they do. Like I said, adcom has very limited interview resources. They do not and would not interview someone they don't find prima facie interesting.
Not really. I think the "waiver" is meant for people in remote locations. I got a waiver last year (was in remote location), then got called for interview and finally got accepted. Didn't end up taking up the offer though.

Just had my off-campus interview. An alum in Seattle.

Why MBA? Why Kellogg?
Have you spoken to alums or current students? What have they said?
Positives and negatives of Kellogg?
Leadership style? Example
How have you performed compared to your peers? Example
What will you contribute?
What will you teach?
Anything we miss?
Any other questions?

He recommended that I really research negatives of each school to better understand "fit".

Lasted 40 min.

It was fairly laid back. I had to pause a couple of times to formulate my answers. Didn't seem like he held that against me.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Thanks!!! The what will you teach question is interesting. I wonder how to separate that from what we'll contribute.

Yes!
Sadly they do not have a dedicated MMM thread this year.
My guess was the lack of traffic on last year's version.

Hi everyone,

I had interviewed for Kellogg earlier this year, so I thought I should share my experience for others.

Since I was in a remote location, my interview was over Skype - they were quite flexible about this. I had a ~30 minute interview and it really felt like a casual discussion, and not some sort of interrogation. Some specifics:
1. Started with my general introduction, and the interviewer had some follow-up questions on that
2. Focused on getting to know me well, through asking about career plans, hobbies, interests
3. Asked me to highlight one professional achievement
4. Of course, there were the standard "Why MBA?" and "Why Kellogg?" questions. Probed me a bit but I was well prepared for this.
5. I recall that he ended by saying that I should choose the school that aligns best with my goals.

Overall, a very pleasant experience; no unexpected/curveball questions.
I got accepted into Kellogg but decided not to take it up. Needless to say, if I didn't have other options, I would have gladly accepted.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach to me if you have any specific questions.

Good luck to all.

Thanks,
Abhishek

Thanks, that's helpful. My off-campus interview is in Toronto on Friday!

Hey, did anyone call their interviewer? I got a northwestern email address, and I'm not sure if my interviewer still uses that.
