Any one applying for the Masters in Analytics and Management program?
I read on the LBS website that the average Gmat score for MIM is 680 and for MIF is 700; so I am assuming the average for MAM is 690?

Apply! You have nothing to lose. From what I understand from various research, if your GPA is in the range of a 3.3+ and if your GMAT is a 650+, you have a fair shot. Obviously, it doesn't hurt to have higher grades and standardized test scores, but I get the idea from having read a ton of these posts that everyone is overly fixated on telling each other that they need a higher GMAT score. People with 640s have been accepted to LBS and people with 740s have been declined from LBS. To give you an example, I have a 660 GMAT, which is a fine score but nothing to write home about, and got accepted into two highly competitive MiM programs. I also made it to the interview stage for LBS, which is my top choice, and am now waiting to hear back from them.

Make sure you take time on your essays: "What are your motivations for doing a MiM?" and "What can you contribute to the LBS community?". If you write them well and they come across as unique and authentic, they can help make you distinguishable from the rest. In terms of backgrounds that LBS accepts, their student body consists of a myriad of undergraduate backgrounds such as business, economics, engineering, computer science, math, psychology, philosophy etc.

Quick Personal Synopsis: I major in economics/math and minor in statistics at a liberal arts and science honors college. My main extracurricular activity is that I'm an executive editor for my campus newspaper. I also did an internship last summer at a large pharmaceutical company.

P.S. I'm sort of assuming that you're applying for the MiM albeit I'm not sure of which program you are actually interested in.

Have applied for R2, but have not received a reply from LBS yet.The results were supposed to be out by the 6th of Feb. Any idea about the delay?

Also, do they inform you if you have not been shortlisted for the interview round?

Thanks

Hi!

I am from India and not sure whether I have the profile for LBS and hence haven't applied yet. I have GMAT 660, close to one year work experience, an international internship, cleared 4 exams of actuarial science, have two certifications from national stock exchange and Bombay stock exchange and a fair amount of social service and volunteer work. I also understand basic French.
I can still apply in round 4.
Please advise me on whether I should go ahead with my application or is it a long shot?

Hi Anu,

LBS themselves conducts pre-application reviews for any of their programs. For example, for MiM, you can reach them at: mim@london.edu
