2. Average scholarship is 13.5k a year, which means in total 27k. https://poetsandquants.com/2014/11/20/mb ... schools/2/

3. Cost of living in Texas with moderate spending is around 2-2.5k a month in Texas.

4. Average income post-grad is 100k, after tax is around 70k.

If you get that average scholarship (or more) and the 100k (or more) job right out of B-school, then the debt will take care of itself without any real issue. You can pay it off quickly and it turns into an investment with a huge ROI. Your math is very illustrative and spot-on in that scenario.

Not everyone gets that fortunate, though. Lot of people out there that won't get that 27k scholarship, nor will they be making six figures immediately. You can find a lot of B-schoolers out there, even at good programs, that didn't get a job until several months after graduation, and even then were only making, say, 70k. If that's who you become, then suddenly that debt figure looks pretty daunting and will take a very long time to pay off, especially with loan interest running you 7k per year (or more). 140k in debt at 5% interest can be a tremendous long-term financial burden to someone making 75k per year pre-tax.

That's just all part of the process, though. It's a leap into the unknown, and you just don't know how it will turn out. Just hoping that when the time comes I make the best decision and that everything works out. Many thanks for your post.

My application status for R2 still says 'In Review'. Does it make sense to email the Admissions Committee and request for a response ?

Any ideas to when Round 2 decisions will start getting released? Assuming they will start sending some things out before the March 29 deadline.
I had my interview today. Given that they are still interviewing, I guess we'll have to wait for the decisions a few more days.

Getting a little and not wanting to put down a deposit elsewhere, I emailed McCombs. They replied that all decisions would be released together on the 29th.

That feels like an eternity from now... Nothing to do but be patient. Good luck to all

Good luck to all! Does anyone know if they would call admitted students exactly on 29th or a day earlier?

FWIW, the Round 2 decision deadline last year for McCombs was set for March 26th. Per the GMAT Club thread, though, R2 acceptance calls starting going out on March 12. This same basic timeline applied to the year before as well.

Who knows if that's the case again this year, but if it is, I would expect initial acceptance calls to start going out next week.

Maybe not, given that next week is spring break..isn't it?

This week is indeed spring break for UT, though I'm not sure that will make a difference in this context. Looking back at some old threads, there have been reports of offers of admission going out during spring break in previous years.

FWIW, from the current McCombs students I've spoken with, offers of admission generally start going out around two weeks before the listed decision date, and it's a rolling process all the way up until the decision date, with some people getting admitted on the decision date itself. No idea how they figure out when the offers go out -- perhaps based on earliest-in-time interview, most sought-after applicants, or something else entirely? -- but apparently the offers get staggered over about a two week period and don't go out in one big batch. So, basically, great news if you get that acceptance call over the next couple of weeks, but don't necessarily throw in the towel just yet if it's the end of business on March 28 and you still haven't heard anything.

Best of luck to everyone!

Just submitted my application for Round 3. For the transcript, do they require the official transcript sent from my school? Or can I upload a copy of the transcript that I have, like in all the other MBA applications?

For UT, I uploaded my unofficial transcript (same one I used for other schools) to the actual application. Then the other page, I had to get official transcripts mailed to me, and scanned those, and attached those. UT was the only place I had to get my official transcript for, for this second scan.

This, I picked up an official transcript, opened it, scanned it to a PDF and emailed it. Seems odd as you are opening the transcript so why is it more "official" than an "unofficial" at this point?

UC Berkeley required an official transcript but I had to mail it them. To each their own haha. :)

You're fine for now with what you submitted. It differs depending on the program, but apparently at McCombs you will only be asked to submit an official, certified transcript -- i.e. one sent directly from your prior school to McCombs -- in the event you are accepted and you choose to enroll. I, for example, uploaded a copy of my transcripts, and received an interview invite (no decision yet) without being asked to submit an official, certified transcript.

Best of luck on your app!

Just want to clarify what I thought was required:

1) Attach unofficial transcript with my McCombs application (unofficial from my undergrad was very simple...white background, black text, lots of whitespace)

2) Attach official transcript which was sent to me and then scanned up to GIAC (official transcript was mailed to me from my undergrad...had watercolors/seals/raised imprints/grade scale explanation on back)

3) Upon acceptance/enrollment, send official transcript directly to McCombs
