Hello R2 Folks!! Hope interviewed are finished by now. How is everyone managing the wait? Good luck!! Does anyone know if McCombs calls admits on decision day or a day before as many other schools do.

A friend of mine received the good news on decision day by email last year R2... :P

Thanks!! I pulled up stats from previous year's thread. Decision deadline was 26th March last year and the first admission decision reported on forum was on 12th March. There were two admits on March 12, Eleven on March 18, Four on March 19, One on March 23, and remaining on March 26.

Going by this trend can we assume that admits are likely to hear well before the decision date? I am posting here chart showing date-wise admits for reference.

Thanks!!

If this held true, then it would mean they would release some results this week (during spring break for UT).

After doing some digging here and on Livewire, I have a feeling decisions will be released day of (ie the 29th), rather than trickle out the weeks before.

While R2 last year did indeed receive admit calls in the 2 weeks leading up to decision date, R1 of this year all received decisions day of deadline, and applicants on Livewire are reporting interviewers saying no decisions will be posted until the 29th this year.

Hope I'm wrong, but I'll be burying my head in the sand until the end of the month because the wait is killing me!

When I called up Admissions office last week, they mentioned the results will be released may be a week before 29th but not earlier.

Given no reports of offers going out in the first four days of this week, probably safe to assume now we won't hear anything until next week at the earliest, if then.

Official release date is a week from this upcoming Tuesday, and I think I'm just going to check out until then. The constant F5 and anxiety get to be a bit much at some point, so I believe I'll just disconnect for a bit. If the 512 area code comes in sometime next week, great, but if not I'll just hope for good news on the 29th.

Best of luck to all of you on your apps.

Agreed, time to check out until the 29th.

Livewire is reporting a consortium admit at McCombs, not a ton of detail tho and that program does not follow the non-consortium applicant cycle...

Consortium applicant here. CGSM released their membership/fellowship decisions yesterday, so those who got a fellowship offer from UT should have found out by now. If they only received membership (like me) then they wouldn't have received an admission decision yet.

Keep telling myself I'm going to stop checking this thread, but alas I'm here again. Nothing went out from McCombs yesterday, I see, so I imagine if nothing goes out today then R2 applicants probably won't hear anything until the decision release date next Tuesday.

Anyone know how McCombs goes about notifying re: scholarship awards/in-state tuition waivers? I've got an April 1 deposit deadline at another program, and if I get in at McCombs I want to know how much (if anything) I'm getting from there before I send off my deposit. Any idea on this?

I also need to stop obsessively checking Live Wire and this forum. For scholarship, seems like from Rd1 folks, it's within a week or so. Two posters were admitted 12/17 and they both received a scholarship email 12/21. Congrats on your other acceptances!!

  • McCombs Entrepreneurship Night is a bi-annual event which highlights successful McCombs entrepreneurs from the Texas MBA Program while giving students a chance to network with Texas MBAs, alumni, local entrepreneurs, and either Austin Startup Week attendees in the fall, or SXSWi attendees in the spring.

“With the broad alumni base at both Texas and the MBA program, it’s been incredibly easy to get warm introductions at firms that I previously would have had no access to. Furthermore, I find the skills I learned at school are giving me the credibility needed to jump into more senior management roles as well. Finally, with my summer internship at Adobe, I’m confident McCombs played an intricate role at helping me to achieve my future career goals.”

Apparently no offers of admission went out today, so there are now only two business days left before the official release date. Maybe they send out some offers tomorrow and on Monday, but even if they do it looks like a large number of admits won't find out until the decision release date on Tuesday. Not really sure why McCombs has decided to schedule the release of offers differently this year.

Livewire reporting one Indian candidate received an admit from McCombs - if true, they may have started callling but I see no other activity

EDIT - looks like it is an incorrect post, carry on!
