The way I see it is - essay counts are adhered in all colleges. However, the 1 resume guideline we are always recommended is sticking to 1 page. Many colleges, including M7s, don’t have strict guidelines about margins.

Adding around 10% more than the expected counts still okay if space allows.

It is just requirement for the non-native English speaker to meet.
