Just got the interview invitation as well!

Sharing my BG in case helpful as reference for anyone: Asian male / GMAT 750 / 4yr WE / Bulge Bracket banking

This is my 1st interview invitation among all my R1 applications ... got deferred consideration from HBS, no results from GSB yet.

Good luck to everyone out there!

Just my curiosity. When you guys receive an invite, does the portal say “Decision Letter” or “Interview Invite”?

Agreed 😅

Not even waitlisted at 760... :(
I have decent extra-curriculars, Stellar grad-school (IIT), Early promotion. Not able to figure out, where it went wrong. Wish there was a way to get specific feedback.

How did you differentiate yourself in terms of your cover letter and short response? Differentiation is key, especially when so many have impressive GMATs, extracurriculars, jobs, grades, etc.

Got waitlisted here
730 GMAT (2x), Brazil, engineer graduated 2nd in class, startup founder in college (raised seed round), former MBB consultant, general manager leading a turnaround at a medium sized business.

What are the odds of converting the WL? Is it worth the trip to Cambridge?

Through company level projects and and initiatives in extra-curriculars that had a tangible result. I see your point. These schools see mny such cases, but I did put in a lot of thought and refined it through many iterations [spoke to current students of particular clubs I could benefit from and others where I could contribute. Mentioned how I'd contribute at particular clubs based on my past and discussion with student, to show 'fit' as well], which still could be below their average. I understand that. But, there are many levels apart from receiving an admit ...:

Waitlist after interview
Ding after interview
Waitlist before interview
And direct ding.

So this kinda feels like a Super-reject, which I did not expect. This is what has me wondering, where I could have gone so wrong.
