Hi,

So Rotman requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the final year of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The college has also mentioned a link to check International Degree Equivalency, where the minimum admission requirements for India are mentioned as follows:

Bachelor’s Degree Equivalent: Bachelor`s Degree, requiring a minimum of 4 years of study (e.g. BPharm, MBBS, BDS, BTech, BEng, BArch, etc.) Or Completion of BOTH a Bachelor`s (three-year) degree and a Master`s

Mid-B Equivalent: 1st Class/Div or 8.0/10; 7.5/10 from Indian Institutes of Technology

I’ve done a 3 year course from a recognized university in India and scored first division (>60%). I want to check if I would meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the school?
would you be able to post the link? TIA.

Great, would you mind share your profile? And how much scholarship have you received? Thanks

I applied for a Pre-Application appointment but was denied due to them saying “ there is a high volume of requests so we cannot provide a pre- application meeting “

Are they not interested in my profile or is it a thing that they do generally?

While they do grant meets (I was granted multiple meets), at times Rotman does play the "busy" card.

I suggest you attend one of their events, showcase yourself and then ask for a slot.

Good luck!

GMAT is required by some of the companies that recruit on campus. If your goals are not something that require GMAT, you should be fine. Spoiler alert- Most of them look for GMAT

Spike factor essay requires you to demonstrate the Spike factor itself and not just the work.

I only kept one para dedicated to work.
Everything else was personal / other activities

I have question regarding spike factor. As you mentioned the focus shouldn't be just on work, what should be included ideally? I am considering talking more about personal interests - hobbies, volunteering experience, personality traits etc.

For me, one para was about my university club experience, the next one was about my overseas life and challenges I faced, and the last one was about my work experience.

A very good question. It's much better to somehow answer why Rotman, and what are your short & long term goals questions explicitly in your spike factor essay.

Hello,

I have about 8 years of work ex (spanning different geographies). Is that a major deterrent in getting selected?

I don’t see why its a deterrent? Its only as good as reality is. Use your qualities to your advantage!

Watch last year's MBA spotlight. Danielle has answered that Question.
