Karan told me earlier that we would get our final decisions by end of august or first week of September, but I reckon those would be final admits . Not the scheduling of the interview rounds

It takes some time for the adcom to review your application. Once he/she is done, they will invite you for an interview. If they have too many applications to review it will take more time. I think you could take 2 weeks before the end of august or first week of September as a reference for interviews.
