From Central America, given two dates to interview Nov 9th or 10–in Mexico City (two time slots). Given lack of flexibility, I imagine they probably have particular adcoms evaluating particular territories (yet I could be mistaken). Also, I imagine the admissions committee is trying to be egalitarian and giving all applicants a little over a week to prepare their optional essay. Best of luck to everyone, hope this helps a bit, and it seems like all applicants on the thread are very ambitious and determined to succeed, so I will keep my fingers crossed for all of you! :)

There is one guy from Colombia saying he was invited. He seems to be US schooled because of gpa though. Where are you located?

I love MIT, but if I have a break with my sanity it will be because of MIT's obscure approach to invites and their rather poor choice of subject on their promotional emails.

I received the same email as you all. When I followed the link barely a minute after the email arrived, the registration to the Oncampus visit was already full.
Dont' know how much to read into this...I guess this means they have started reviewing our files.

Having done our part, hope is all we have :)
