Received an interview invite. Scheduled for 2nd Dec. I had applied in Round 1 but I was asked to retake English Language test as my TOEFL was not meeting requirement in 1 sub section. Took PTE, submitted new score. It took about 2-3 weeks for score to be added to my profile and then received invite 2 days later.

Maryland does not offer English test waiver. English test waiver is only for those internationals who come from English Speaking countries such as Australia, UK , etc. You can find list of countries on their website. I come from India and have done my undergrad in English. I had to take the English exam.

If you haven’t already taken the exam, take the PTE if you you don’t like RC’s. TOEFL is full of RC’s and I hate RC’s. PTE worked better for me. I have my interview at Maryland scheduled.

My TOEFL Reading section was below the minimum requirement but overall score was above the requirement. I had also submitted optional essay explaining the low score. However, Member for Adcom connected with me on mail and asked me to retake as in these cases it is generally a straight away dinge.

I got an interview invitation with IELTS overall 7.5 (writing 6.0, speaking 7.5)
I think that if you got 7.5 overall, a score for each section doesn’t matter. Don’t worry.

Hi smls........The Smith portal gave me the interviewer’s name in a flash when I confirmed the date with them.......the info is not available anymore once the booking is confirmed
