Haven't heard of any invites today - maybe tomorrow. Does anyone know if last year was also this trickle-out system?

Seems like people from industries outside consulting have started receiving interview invites. Livewire has one with FMCG/CGP and one with Entrepreneurship background.

Seems like still a US focus. Fingers crossed!

People on Livewire (and elsewhere) whine about the wait to get an interview with GSB.. I think the worst part is probably after the interview but before the offer (probably 4-6wks, right?). Then you don't know whether you really need to give your 110% on your other school/job interviews and whether you need to start prepping new school apps for R2 (which you probably need to do as there's only a 3wk gap + Xmas) because you feel like there's a reasonable chance that things *could* go well. Because to be honest I felt like I had no chance to get an interview so it didn't even feel like an obtainable thing, so far away. Must be more devastating to be rejected after the interview than before because you get your hopes up and get excited. What do you think?

I meant from industries outside consulting. One of those two was MBB, the other I don't full recall.

Does anyone know if they usually trickle out invites or how it has gone in prior years?

I completely agree. I have GSB and HBS for R1 and got the HBS invite, waiting on GSB. If I don't get the GSB invite by say very early November, I'll probably really start focusing on my R2 apps. If I somehow do manage to get both the GSB and HBS invites... then honestly I think I'll struggle mentally putting 110% into doing R2 apps.

What other schools are you thinking about? I'll probably do Wharton and maybe Booth / Kellogg / Columbia (one of those)...

Invites are being sent out over the weekend.

Edit: looks like it was just a troll on LiveWire.

Agree - at least you have done both GSB and HBS apps so all the hassle out of the way.

Given that I got to interview stage at GSB, I might only do HBS R2. If I fail both GSB and HBS, I might actually go into PE for a year or stay with MBB for another year at next level (direct promotion) and then reappy next year. If they think I am not ready, then I might take their advice and let myself mature for another year before reapplying.
