My clients have gotten interview invites on the absolute LAST day of the range GSB gives (and those people have been admitted), so they really do send them out over the entire range. Keep hope alive!

Seems like people from industries outside consulting have started receiving interview invites. Livewire has one with FMCG/CGP and one with Entrepreneurship background.

Does anyone know if they usually trickle out invites or how it has gone in prior years?

One of them definitely had. She had gotten dinged to all other schools she applied to (including some ranked much lower than Stanford). Then after she received the interview invite on the last day, they ended up having to go through three different alumni before she got someone who could make an interview work. And then she didn't think the interview went well. But she got into Stanford -- and only Stanford. I'm telling you, this process is crazy. I have seen crazy things happen every single year, so absolutely no one should give up hope on any school until it's 100% over.

Best of luck to all!

I also know of at least two people who received invites on the very last day at the very last minute and got in and now just graduated :-)

Hi,

I am wondering - is it possible to defer at Stanford for one year? My reasons are health issues and financial situation.

thanks for the thoughts.

Marie.

It will be hard. In all probability, they might ask you to reapply again. The financial situation will almost not be considered a plank at all, but the health issues might be, if you can demonstrate significant and recent deterioration in your situation after you applied, and that one year will be enough to resolve all issues around this health problem.

Need some advice. I contacted my interviewer assigned three days ago via email and haven't heard from him. Sent out another email today.
Do you think I should drop him a message/call on phone?

Or should I contact the adcom?

First off - congrats on your interview invite :)

Most likely an honest mistake on his side - an email that got lost in all other emails. I got my interviewer's work email so I presume he gets many many emails every day. (i.e. don't get worried he's not interested in interviewing you - pretty much all alum are keen to contribute in every way possible!)

If I were in your situation, I'd probably send a brief update note to the adcom person to keep him/her in the loop - so it doesn't seem as you are the one delaying the interview process. Just say that you have reached out and still have not managed to get hold of him and that you will try again by calling him directly (I'd probably call the person directly tomorrow or so). Most likely the adcom will also nudge the interviewer to get in touch.

Hope it works out! and hope your interview will go well :)

I had a similar situation occur but thought calling was aggressive (and awkward). I just replied to my original email with a follow-up, and mentioned that Stanford requires our interview to take place by X date in as friendly of a way as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if the interviewers often don't know how quick the interview is supposed to happen and feel no urgency. He responded almost immediately.
