Hmmm so.. 1004 total interview invites, over 3 rounds, around 334 interview invites per round.
Assuming 7500 over all applicants distributed evenly across 3 rounds, 13% chance for an invite to interview and ~ 6% chance of getting in..

The assumption of equal invites per round probably isn't 100% true.

Round 1 and 2 probably get the bulk of invites, as it's encouraged to apply in those rounds and spots start to fill out. As spots fill up the competition per spot increases. The split might be more like 45:40:15.

So the invite split per round might be more like 451:402:151.

Hi, R3 invites will not be ~151 unfortunately, maybe ~50. The class will be more or less shaped by R2.

For those who have followed this process for a few years - anything different with the new dean? E.g. Fewer interview invites? (330 feels high relative to invites to people on this forum, no?) Or interview questions?

New dean has nothing to do with admissions. :) Everything (per admission operations) is as usual so good luck.

But there is also a new dean of admissions, no? Derrick Bolton stepped down, didn't he?

Yea, that's the dean I was thinking of. But may not have had an impact yet as they still have an interim dean (right?).. Still curious to see how the next one will help shape the programme just like Derrick Bolton did :)

Some people on ClearAdmit saying that their status changed to rejected. Troll or true? Anyone else seeing this?

I stopped trusting LiveWire a long time ago, especially isolated posts. Most universities send out rejections on their final day, for Stanford that's the 16th. For now, I think its just invites....but who really ever knows.

For any folks who have already interviewed with Stanford, any oddball questions this year (such as the book question in the past)?

What was your overall experience like?

@BigTuna: None at all.

Very relaxed and pleasant conversation - didn't feel at all as if he was 'out to get me'. Straightforward behavioral questions that all can be found in interview reports on clearadmit. Definitely strengthened my desire to go to GSB :)

Good luck!

No oddball questions for me either, though my interviewer asked quite a few probing follow up questions.

Hard to say. I'm sure there will still be invites going out right until the final day, as per the last two years. But I'm not particularly holding out...

Looking at last year's numbers, the penultimate date gets some good traction.

I've heard people getting it till the very last minute, but expect a few today, more tomorrow and then remaining few on Wed.

I haven't heard a lot of people from Europe getting invites, so I'm guessing a bunch there and maybe Asia.

Obviously taking into consideration that Stanford is the most selective, so minimal numbers...

Hi guys and good luck to everyone in this process!

Question - what is your application status after interview is completed? Mine just back to "In review".
