Is the thinking that they want to improve their yield rate? To improve the rankings?

Just wondering what the motivation would be for them to do this?

It is an independent probability unless Stanford knows the admission result of HBS. Your probability of getting an interview didn’t change due to HBS result in anyway.
I’m referring to the fact that if I was invited for an HBS interview, in theory, I have a strong profile that could also be attractive to Stanford. Or do HBS and Stanford look for different profiles? Could a profile be strong for one school and not for the other?

I think they both look for diverse applicants and pretty amazing applicants. There are not that many things to look at in my humble opinion 😇

Stanford is a much smaller program however but they also have A lower yield rate so they proportionately admit a few more people than Harvard

That could be a possibility, but again it is just a conjecture. Every process has a loophole especially in the education system. Traditionally, Harvard is strong in finance and Stanford has more interests in entrepreneurship etc... so they might have specific points/strengths they emphasize/focus on.

So a favorable candidate for HBS is not necessarily a favorable candidate for GSB.

How important is gre/gmat for GSB? Any gut feeling…? Is this more pass non-pass or critical?

Depends a lot on the profile. As a general rule, the worse your UG GPA, the more important the GMAT becomes. A GMAT cannot and will not secure an admit - even if you score a perfect 800. I would say past a 740 there is not much increase in % of getting admitted (all else held equal). Note that I am not a professional consultant, but this is what seems to be the case.

Thanks for your reply! Is gpa 3.59 and gmat 700 an okay stat?

Anyone who has gotten an invite, could you share what time of day you received it around? Wondering if they send out at a consistent time so I can just check once per day and not be worried the rest of it.

I definitely would if you can score at least 165 on quant and verbal. 700 is low for Stanford.

Probably not the right chat for the jump towards GRE 😇 But the two tests are fairly close. The number of people have done it it’s fairly easy on the quantitative side. Try searching. I think we have a couple videos on it.

I read that the average score is around 337. Isn’t the safety score around 163- 164 ?

Hi, looking for opinions: if I haven’t received a GSB R1 interview invite by mid October (Indian, 760 GMAT, MBB), is it reasonable to assume it isn’t coming? Or is it also common to receive interviews later with high GMAT scores?
