I worked primarily with
ApplicantLab for my bschool applications and never once felt that Luqzan or Maria were arrogant or rude. In fact, I got the most bang for my buck. The feedback I received on my essays were what I believed helped me to get into Stanford, Wharton, Berkeley and MIT (also received scholarship). They will be candid about your profile and your chances of admissions, and some people may not take too kindly to their feedback, but Maria and team are good at what they do, and they’re not going to lead you on/waste your time.
1. good for you. But I will again say that 90% of the candidates can make better stories by themselves. Just follow the basics such as the STAR principle and so on.
2. A lot of factors go into B-School selection and not just the stories.
for example, If you are a US citizen, you are already above rest of the world in terms of selection chances.
My understanding is that
ApplicantLab is a platform to help you with YOUR OWN stories to educate you and help you organize them to create the best application at 1/10th the cost of a consultant. I don't think it is promising you to fabricate stories for you. You will have to do the work but you can use existing templates/etc. (I actually have not used it but just heard people talk about it but as with any consultant, and especially the one that costs 1/10th or 1/20th the price, the work part is going to be on you.
"You can do it better yourself" - these are common words of anyone unhappy or someone who has gone through the experience with a negative outcome. I can get dinged myself without paying anyone type of thing. But you can say this about any product - e.g. GMAT Course or a Book and even the calculator - you can say it is not worth paying for a calculator because you can do your own multiplication. But it does not mean it is better. We have had lots of people use
ApplicantLab and had Maria on YouTube being super helpful sharing all her knowledge literally for hours (example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPsParRMU80) so I find it hard to believe that she shared a lot of it for free but hides it in her paid platform...
P.S. Since it is a self-service platform how, was she rude? Did you buy extra services or you tried to get something for free and not happy with the free reply or is there some consultation the platform comes with?
