Given the increase in the 2nd round applicants, I get a feeling the number of invites in the 2nd wave and the timing of it is function of how the 1st wave interview candidates have performed.

Deposits are due on February 19th for R1, so the school might be releasing some more invitations depending on how that works out.

A small correction. Deposits are due on the 15th for R1 and yes, they might be waiting for the date and then decide on further invitations.

All the best!

Thanks for the correction, that could have ended badly for me. I plan on putting down my deposit for Tepper tonight! I'm hoping for an offer from Ross, but really like Tepper as well.

I was looking for details regarding core course waiver on Tepper's website, but there's absolutely no info. Does anyone have any clue about it?

I was talking to one of the second year students. He said there are course waivers. You will get the info about qualifying exams and all in Basecamp.

What information are you looking for? You basically take an exemption exam for the core class, and if you pass, you can an elective (or just have one less class that mini).

Thanks theo09 and farful :)

If I make in, then I would like to get waiver for 'Probability and Statistics' and 'Financial and Managerial Accounting I'. As you mentioned that an exemption class is required, I would like to know about the eligibility requirements for taking these exemption exams. And it would be great if you can provide more info about the waiver stuff.

Hi all, I'm a R2 applicant from Latin America. Just interviewed 10 days ago in campus. Had mine with Jackie Jones, she was great. Now we just have to wait it out.

If you want to exempt out of a class, you need to take a 2-3 hour exemption exam for that corresponding class. There are no eligibility requirements otherwise.

There is one exam for Prob&Stats, and there is one exemption exam for both Accounting I and Accounting II (mini 1 and mini 3 classes). If you have a CPA, you can exempt out of accounting without taking the exam.

You will be provided a syllabus to see what is covered in the class/exemption exam.

There are always a handful of people who exempt out of both accounting and stats in mini 1. In fact, I would encourage it if you're comfortable with the material.

Hope that helps.

Haha ... just wait for the 15th. The R1 admits have to pay the initial deposit before 15th, based on that they would surely roll out some more invites.
Hang in there :)

All the best!

Hi All,

I attended the interview on campus on the 5th of Feb. The interviewer was very friendly and the questions were pretty standard. The campus atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and the adcom members are very friendly. However, it was brutally cold that morning and I had a hard time finding parking spot outside the Posner Hall. Also, the interviewer may or may not have reviewed your application before the interview. We started the interview chatting about the weather. She asked me few basic questions

1. The reason I switched companies.
2. Why MBA now?
3. A time when my supervisor was not very supportive of me and how I handled it.
4. What do I do outside of work?
5. What do I bring to the table?
6. Do I have any questions?

We spent the last 10 minutes chatting about Pittsburgh.

After the interview, I attended an information Session and a campus tour and lunch with a second year student. I also interacted with other adcom members before catching a flight back home.

I see 52 people out of 139 on GC has been interviewed or invited to interview, which is more than the percentage in R1. I dont think there is going to be another wave of interview invites. Any thoughts???
