Hello,
After months of toiling I am almost done with my application except this small section -Activities, Hobbies, Awards and Professional Certifications. What are we supposed to fill in here .. i am specific to Activities section here .. any idea ? :|

I filled out the Consortium application and other schools, but I've consistently used that section to talk about my volunteer experiences, community service, and any other professional activities.

Hey MBAreapplicant84 There is a prompt in the online application "Promotion(s) and dates(s) received". What all do we need to be writing here?
Hi sachidix, in my application last year I put something along the lines of, "Promoted from Analyst to Senior Analyst on mm/yy." I hope that helps!

I think the strategy that bml1105 has taken is a good one. This is an opportunity for you to round out your application and let the adcom get a better feel for who you are.

But I have had three promotions and there isn't enough space to write it all. Would it be okay if I just write the position I was promoted to and mm/yy in each case?

Hi guys, a silly question: for the essay(3 principles), it will be fine to chose one, two or even all of the principles, right? thanks!

Hello ! Btw congrats for your first post. I think you are referring to the following essay

FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS - ONE REQUIRED ESSAY:
-UCLA Anderson is distinguished by three defining principles: Share Success, Think Fearlessly, Drive Change. What principles have defined your life and pre-MBA career? How do you believe that UCLA Anderson's principles, and the environment they create, will help you attain your post-MBA career goals? (750 words maximum)

It is clearly mentioned that UCLA is distinguished by three defining principles. However, it is not explicitly mentioned that you need to mention 3 and only 3 principles that have defined your life and pre-MBA. It could be more or less. I would prefer more as it'll reveal more about you. Also, it is not necessary that your principles be exactly the same as mentioned by UCLA.

P.S : I chose 3 principles that I fundamentally felt were more dear to me rather than drawing parallels. It'd be good if some one can throw more light on this and clarify whether my understanding is correct. Thanks ! :)

Hi MBAreapplicant84,
I have been trying to connect with some of the students via Admissions Ambassador Corps but have not been receiving any reply after submitting the online submission form a while ago. Do you think it would be alright to connect with the students directly if I am interested in a certain club? I noticed that the club officers have their emails listed on the website. Thanks!

Hey,

Even though I am an applicant as well but I guess I can answer this..
Yes, you can connect with the students directly as well. I did that too. Thankfully, the results are good. Most of the students I tried reaching out to took the time to speak to me!!

Even though I wrote about two principles, I don't think the number really matters at all..So just relax and write about what you can relate to the most while managing to reamin under the word limit  !!

Hey emilymom, I am sorry that you haven't been able to get a hold of anyone. I am actually a member of the Admissions Ambassador Corps. With classes just starting, and prospective student visits increasing, I think the AAC board has been pretty swamped. You are definitely ok reaching out to people in specific clubs you are interested in. If you want to chat, I would be happy to set up a call or something sometime. If you want an introduction to someone in a club you are interested in as well, I would be happy to do that. Send me a PM!
