well..i cant really remember the exact questions but for a first timer the duration could be between 35-45 mins depending on the interviewer.
very conversational interview as usual and chilled out talk.
nothing to sweat about.
know your stories..why UNC, why MBA, Goals, Leadership stuff etc.
all the basic behavioural questions..no curveballs here..

Had interview yesterday the 10th. Went well. Go to google "Kenan-Flagler Clear Admit interview questions" it is spot on from last year…had a majority of those questions…what business books have you read lately…etc..lasted about 30 minutes with an adcom member.

My interview experience was good. For a change it wasn't on skype :P ... We did it outside Orion mall... :) Nice place .. I come from Chennai so you can imagine how much I loved the weather ..lol..
Sanjay is very friendly ... Questions were pretty standard... Know your goals well, Why Kenan Flagler, Leadership and teamwork experiences, etc....

The interview is a blind one. My interviewer only had the copy of my resume with her. It is a pretty standard interview, but the questions can be asked a bit differently. She was trying to understand my work and how I have reacted to different situations. My advice - know your story and rehearse it multiple times. (on a lighter note - please don't over-rehearse and speak at 10 words/second speed :P . they may not understand you very well ;)

Here's a question: Does UNC need official scores be reported by GMAC before the round deadline or will self reported scores in the application do? I am planning to take the exam late Dec and apply for the Jan deadline. However, I am not sure if the my scores will reach the school in time considering its the holidays.

Hi JaySean,

The best "Why our school" answers are the ones that are research led. When you talk to students/ alumni from the school, there's a lot of information that you can get from them which can speak to the resources an MBA program has to offer specifically for YOU.

I find using this information as the best way to present your case for "Why MBA". It also tell the admissions team that you have taken the pains to find out about their program and are considering it seriously.
If you are not able to connect with students, no worries. Most b-schools have an admissions/students' blog and have tonnes of material uploaded on You Tube- you will find a lot of information there, which will help you to know the school better.

Some of the specifics that you can build into your answer are:

a. Curriculum - core/ electives
b. Specialization
c. Networking/ career opportunities
d. Projects/ experiential learning opportunities
e. Clubs etc.

To add to this, its never too bad to tell a b-school what you will bring to the table. MBA education is a two way process- you take some and you give some.
