I looked pretty silly myself when I went through the first practice and reviewed it.
So I practiced again and again.
At the end, my demeanor and delivery hadn't improved one bit, but at least I had gotten used to seeing myself that way ;)

You all are making me really nervous! I'm taking it tomorrow morning. I just know if I get a question that catches me off guard I'm going to look like a complete moron....

Maybe if we all seem moderately dorky they'll have to ask us all to a f2f to get a better picture of us... :-D

My video questions are as below:
1.Tell us one thing you didn't mention in your resume.
2.What was your last leading project? How was the result?

Hope it helps.

No human being should be allowed to see my video interview!

Talk about a complete disaster!

I am generally comfortable while talking in front of a camera, but this time...

Question 1:
I answer slowly and in a very composed manner....sounds good right? The problem though was that I was waaay too slow. I was only midway through my answer when the time ran out! It stopped recording even before I got to my main point..

I was determined to make up for it in the second question.

Question 2:
The application normally 'beeps' during the preparation time just before the recording starts. For me though..IT DIDN'T!!
Result: I was busy jotting away and looked up after a while only to see 'recording.' on the screen!

Entering panic mode, I tried to blurt out the answer as quickly as I could. At one point it appeared that the video recording had ended, and I stopped, but the 'Recording' message came back! The recording then ended without warning, leaving me mid-sentence. :peek:

I feel devastated. This was definitely not a measure of my capabilities. Looks like its 'goodbye Foster'

I stammered, I looked like an idiot, I completely lost my composure. At one point it appeared that the video recording had ended, and I stopped, but the 'Recording' message came back!! And I start blabbering again, picking up where I left off after 10 seconds of looking blankly at the screen like an idiot. The recording then ends without warning, leaving me mid-sentence. :peek:

Why second guess? I am sure your video interview will not nullify everything your resume, recommendations, scores and essays have built. Similarly a great video interview will not make up for major shortcomings. It is just a component in the whole package. I am sure, whether I get called for an admissions interview or I don't, the video interview will only have a small role in it.
Relax, now that it's done!

Thanks. You may be right, but considering that Foster sends out video interviews before the admissions interview for most of us, it does evidently play an important role as a filter.

Yeah, no point pondering about it now though. I have informed Kira Talent about the technical issues I faced and how they hampered my responses. Hoping to get the questions reset, although it seems unlikely.

UPDATE : No retakes allowed without approval from Foster. That's only fair I guess. Good luck, everyone :)

PraveenGarimel - Could you share the 2 questions as well? It will be of great help. Thx!

Does anyone know the exact time of video interview deadline?
I know it is Feb 9th.
But I don't whether it is 23:59PM PST, Feb 9th.

My questions were:
1. What 3 adjectives would you use to describe yourself and why?
2. If you could start a new venture to solve a major problem what would you choose and why ?

Hi guys,

I,ve just finished my Video Interview.

Q1 : who is your role model and why?
Q2 : What leadership ability do you appreciate in your current direct supervisor and what ability do you wish they would improve on?

Second question I found to be tricky but I think I did ok. Good luck to everyone!

Well that was hard lol....hopefully I am not the only one fumbling their way through those questions. Very hard to engage and answer when there is no one else on the other side

I got an e-mail saying they received my video and would review it. Got all excited when I intitially saw the e-mail was from Foster but...god this is psychologically taxing.

Seemed to have received a generic email thanking for the video response and saying they will review...hoping that doesn't mean I wasn't chosen for face to face interview.

Nah, it just means they have received the files from Kira Talent.
I suppose in the meantime, the ones who were called for a F2F already have been interviewed (or scheduled for one)?
I wonder when they start inviting the others- I am trying to squeeze a bunch of stuff within a small time frame- wouldn't mind a bit of flexibility... (okay, not the kind of flexibility one gets when he isn't invited at all... :P !)
