Just got a video interview invite. Excited that I got one, but I honestly hate video interviews. I did one for another school and it was awful. You've only got one shot at answering the question and ugh....

Anywho, just thought I would let you all know that this appears to be the week that invites will be going out.

Anybody who has done UW's video interview: any tips, hints, tricks you can give would be awesome.

I also received an invite for the video interview. I am guessing this is another round of screening to finally choose candidates for the actual admission interview.
I second Pullo's request: anyone with experience with the video interview with Foster, if you can share some tips, that will be great! Thanks in advance!

Reading previous posts seem to indicate getting invited for a f2f interview is very promising, while getting a video interview means they are still not sure they want to interview you... :(

Invited to interview here. No mention of a video interview, so I guess I'm lucky to skip straight to the actual admissions interview.

R3 applicant, submitted 3 or 4 days before the deadline. Received the invitation email at 1:45pm EST. No visible changes to the online application portion....still just says "Submitted and Paid." All of my stats are to the left...US military officer, service academy undergrad.

Seems like a lot of those who got the video interviews didn't end up getting an f2f afterwards...yikes this is depressing

I wonder what can be interpreted from a video interview that cannot be done through a Skype interview.
In any case, more opportunity for you to interact with them. Congrats!
I think what Pullo asked was re your work experience/background.
(FYI, I am a postdoc researcher in Neuroscience interested in a career in Management consulting)

I'm from Taiwan who work in Korea now. I also receive an invitation of both interview & video. As "henbo19860611" says, I receive 3 emails. I'll do F2F in Taiwan.

Not sure about flying to Seattle yet. I live in Florida right now, so it might come down to how cheap flights are and when the available interview slots are. I'll probably know by Wednesday...waiting to hear back from a few other schools. I am from Seattle though....it'd be nice to see my folks!

And I didn't get any call about the interview. Just got an email (at 1:45pm EST).

Anyone else having problem opening the video interview link?

I successfully checked in, registered and practiced a few questions before signing off for the day.
But now when I tried checking in again using the same hardware and software setup, it gives an error message. Same deal with different browser and different computer (both Macs).
Took the advice of the chat support and emailed them describing the problem. I hope I hear back soon- I can only practice (or troubleshoot) during the early morning and evening :(

Did the video questions today.

1. Who is your role model and why?
2. Describe a time when your work was criticized.

Not sure what to expect from this. I hate this kind of format, but it will have to do. From previous pages I believe that turn around (if a f2f is to be extended) will be in the next few days. If nothing, then *shrug*....probably in the denied pile maybe WL if I am very, very lucky.

Good luck to everyone else and people with f2f already, please let us know how those go.

You have 30 seconds to prep after the question is asked, then 1min 30sec to respond. There are NO retakes. You've only got one shot. Just two questions. So it takes about 4 minutes from start to finish. I don't see how this really helps the adcoms, but if they need another weeding factor...
