Chin up, SOM hopefuls! Yale has a low acceptance rate, high ranking and, most importantly, a *low yield* profile. It's low yield that many accepted applicants will turn down SOM offers for other schools, which should give waitlisted students reason to remain hopeful.
This past cycle, one of my clients turned down Yale due to a higher scholarship at a similarly ranked school. It happens! His spot may go to a waitlisted candidate.
Read the fine print associated with your waitlist status - you may choose to supplement your candidacy with additional information (e.g., promotion at work, raise, increased scope of responsibilities, new extracurricular leadership, etc).
And, if you are unsuccessful, there is always next year.
