Welcome to all prospective applicants of Wharton's MBA, JD/MBA, and Lauder programs to the Class of 2019 discussion. Use this platform to know each-other, build network, exchange ideas/information, discuss application strategies, share interview /school visit experiences, and boost one-another's morale to face the tough admission process.

I will post the essay prompts as soon as they're out.

Good luck to all!

Anyone who was admitted R1 have the scoop on if Wharton calls people or just updates the portal, and what time one can expect to find out? Answers seem to be mixed from previous years. Appreciate the help!

Round 1 admit here:

Wharton calls you up. They mention this in the interview as well but I will write this here for clarification. Wharton will be calling everyone up, they start from early in the morning (6:30 am or something) US east coast time and start calling the Asian time zones first and then dial westwards.
For reference, I live in Japan, and they called me around 10:30 pm JST. (Around 9:30 am ET). However, everyone won't get the call at the same time (please remember the admissions team are also human) so even if your friend gets a call, please wait.
I know it's extremely difficult since most people would be having a nervous breakdown at this point and will be checking their mails and phones every 5 minutes, with productivity of the past week being probably zero. ;)

Thanks much sidbee for your helpful inputs on decision timeline.

Good luck to all! Here is a separate chat room for Wharton R2 applicants to stay in touch and share decision updates/news with other applicants... https://gmatclub.com/forum/mchat4.php?fl=menu

Glad I could share the experience with the rest of the chat room today. Unfortunately, my Wharton decision came by email that I was waitlisted. Congrats to everyone admitted today!

Just have to share this bizarre turn of events - Wharton was my last shot at b-school after being rejected by two others and only applying to three. I got no call before noon so assumed this was a no-go (my other two rejections certainly didn't help with confidence) though I thought this was by far my best app and the school I was most passionate about. Came to terms with my life without business school and was getting used to the idea and then got a missed called at 12:20pm from a Philly number followed by an email shortly after that I was accepted with $$$. Wishing best of luck to everyone, this process sucks so hard but we will all be totally ok in the end regardless of outcome here.

Congrats to those admitted in R2. Is there an active waitlist thread? The one I bumped into had no posts/updates even from R1.

Does not seem like it. Also, take this with a grain of salt, but the chances do not seem high: http://www.mbadataguru.com/blog/mba/mba ... 2019-data/

You were not kidding about this. Wharton literally “calls you up.” While I got my call a bit after 8am, most West Coast folks got theirs around 7:30am, one even got it at 6:30am haha. But what better way to wake up than getting a call from Wharton!
