I have 6 years of work ex - 3 in Supply chain strategy consulting and 3 in Product Management/Product Strategy. What in your opinion is the next career goal that B-schools typically like to see in an applicant with my work ex (given I’m already in Product)......i.e. VC/Start-up/PE or something else?

There are a lot of counselling/consulting services available with price ranging from 2000$ to 10000$. How did the students who made it Wharton decide which counsellor to go with ? What parameters did you use? Also how many colleges do you think one should apply to?
I definitely think you should research a bit - go with consultants who have a history of getting people of your background into the schools you want. For some people (not me) timezone was also a factor. So if you’re based in India, you might want to work with consultants in India and not US based consultants for example

What are the practice areas which Wharton excels at? for eg, i have heard that some mba schools are targeted a lot by people wanting to go towards consulting, so where would wharton fall in that bucket?

Also, would it be possible to connect with you guys over linkedin or maybe a separate chat over here itself for the long run? I’d love if you could share your guidance in the future too!

I know that Wharton admits average 5 years of work experience, but, do they by any chance view an advanced degree similarly to work experience? I received my JD after undergrad then worked for three years. Would you recommend waiting or applying?
They’ll consider you work ex as work ex and all your degrees as education.

Yes Toefl is not needed, however, having toefl score will give you an extra advantage over other applicants.

I am not sure if that is true. TOEFL is just a criterion to prove your efficiency in English which they check through interview, team based discussion, and GMAT Verbal score.

I don’t think they’d view an advanced degree the same as work ex because they are fundamentally different. Regarding whether you should wait - do you think you’ve created meaningful impact at work or in your advance degree course? And do you think you’ve shown leadership there? If so, I would say go for it. When you become a student, you would have completed 4 years and I know people with 4 years of work ex who got in

Can you provide the link for the list of majors provided by Wharton. I am mostly interested in technology, bussiness and consulting intersection

If you’ve worked at the same firm for 5+ years, does that weaken your application compared to people who switched jobs?
