Hello,

Yes man, you are absolutely right. I completely believe Haskayne is great Uni. Rotman comes at 55 in FT and Calgary is not there in top 100. However, I did say that it totally depends on your specialization during the program. Making an assumption that O&G will bounce back totally depends on the person's choice. Calgary at one point was an amazing bet for energy. While Rotman is still pretty well known for its Finance program. The job scenario, on the other hand, is different for both the places.

Hi

No, actually that is not true ..though Haskayne is a great college. Toronto and Schulich are in a different league altogether. It will depend on the specialization you plan on doing. Moreover, these reports are from the time when Calgary's economy was at all time high. Now, the scenario is remarkably different. And, also the global recognition that you will get from Toronto. Rest is up to you.
Peace

Any news regarding admissions? I sent additional transcripts weeks ago but haven't heard back. I am getting worried as I am receiving admissions letters from other universities and have to make a decision. Anyone else in the same situation?

The turn around time at Haskayne is usually 3 weeks. You can contact Ms. Adrien Caddick @ adrien.caddick@haskayne.ucalgary.ca to know your status.

I got an admit for the Haskayne MBA program with a merit scholarship.
I am a technical person in Information and Technology sector. Will I be able to get a job in Calgary?
How tough or challenging will it be for me to move to Toronto, on completion of the MBA, and get a job?
Any ideas please

Can anyone provide any insight on the timelines surrounding applications for the U of C MBA.

I originally submitted my application in January, my final reference submitted on March 1st. I think my GMAT official score was holding things up, I wrote on the 7th but didn't receive the official score report until this past Tuesday (March 21st).

Most of my application is believe is quite strong (exception being GMAT on which I did not score as well as I had thought I would, but still above min needed) but with every day that passes I worry a bit more that the program will be filled and I won't be offered a spot.

I know I am probably being impatient and should just wait but am starting to feel anxious. Does anyone have any experience with how long the process takes after GMAT score is received?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you would have send the unofficial report along with the rest of the material. If that is the case, probably the school will respond immediately once they receive the official report. Just make sure it reaches before the official third round deadline.

Hi Vishal, Congratulations for both the admits. My understanding is, both schools are in opposite vertex of Canada, so you got to decide where you want to be. Haskayne has one of the best ROI and is definitely better reputed when compared to Molson. However, Molson's proximity to Toronto give's it a added advantage of industries in Ottawa. On the other end Haskayne has a strong reputation in western Canada and it widely acknowledged in the energy industry. Saying this, its absolutely what you desire, industry, part of Canada.. etc

Note - Molson is a 15 Course MBA(16 Months), while Haskayne is 20 Course MBA (20 Months) in ideal circumstances.

Hi Arul, as suggested to Vishal in my previous post, it's upto you which industry and part of Canada you want to be. To answer you question, in my perspective, Haskayne is better rank wise and reputation wise as you would have already noticed. Additionally, also consider your previous industry and its relevance to the city you chose to move, unless you wan to switch industry. Good Luck
