- review the posts on waitlist strategies posted on the2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 threads about Illinois MBA
- The only thing you can do, unfortunately, is improve your GMAT score. Everything else, at this point....unlikely to impact the adcom (job promotion, new courses, etc).
- Reach out to the adcom with questions (in a nice, normal, moderate way.). The adcom are suckers for people who love the Illinois MBA. Asking questions, one way to show them you are excited about the program.
- I believe you are young, in addition to doing the above things, start thinking about the next admission cycle, the one for next year. Start fixing your file now, etc for the next cycle. Missing one year is not an issue....in the long run, whether you started your MBA this year or next year, won't make a difference!

Then relax, and let Karma do its job....

PS: Yep, I endured a winter/summer of pain and discontent on Booth/Ross waitlists, so....I know the feeling. Instead of starting the MBA in 2013, I ended up starting in 2014. The additional year was sweet actually. I had fun at work (everybody knew I was leaving!), so I was under no pressure. Gave me a chance to save up cash! Allowed me to focus on very few MBA programs! Gave me more time to research companies! I got to re-write the GMAT.

applied on the R2 deadline i.e. January 18th
Still no word from the school, no invite
anyone in the same boat?
Also is there still some hope?

Relax, the adcom will reach out to you soon. As has been written elsewhere, our Illinois MBA adcom will be adding students to the admit list, at late as July 31 for domestic students like you. I got my invite in march, if I recall correctly.

How was the Interview? can you share some questions and tips? especially I heard there is a case interview as well? Can you share the questions? I have my interview scheduled on Thursday.

You mean this year there are no case interviews?

During my interview, it was revealed that the adcom size is just 3. Now that's a really small number. So, it might take them longer than usual to respond. Hang in there man!

Okay. Sounds actually better :). Was anyone interviewed by Mark Lockwood. I have an interview scheduled with him in a couple of days.

Also, i have about 9.5 yrs of experience and currently working as a Manager in an IT company. I have GMAT 690 and about 5 years of international experience in USA, Singapore, Europe. Is there any applicant out there with similar profile, who have already been admitted ?

got an on-campus interview invitation today, applied in R2. Adcomm offers two options for campus interview, one is to attend their Illinois MBA Connect and schedule an interview on the same day; the other one is that I select my preference of dates. Either way, they did not disclose who the interviewer is gonna be. Is there anyone else invited to the campus interview as well?

I just had my interview with Mark a few minutes back.
Even though I did not ask anything about the results, Mark told me that they have long list of interviews and it will take them a bit of time to get back to me and have patience. I am not sure what should I takeaway from that. How long does it take usually for adcom to come back to you. Also do they inform about denial as well?
Also, Interview was not at all intense, which I was expecting, it was way more informal chat that I was expecting. Was surprised actually.
