I feel the answer is E.
I could narrow down to A and E both has singular verb has. Went for E

In such a direct comparison between two nouns, the GMAT will go for the like option.

Like most bulldogs, Chauncy has a fondness for meat and gravy.

Singular "Chauncy" needs "has".

A. like most bulldogs, has

B. as most bulldogs, have

"As" must be followed by a verb. Chauncy + have (Plural) is wrong. We need "has"

C. like many bulldogs, have

"We need "has" in place of "have"

D. like most bulldogs, having

"No verb in the sentence"

E. as with many bulldogs, has

"As" must be followed by a verb.

Between A and E:
A. most = 51% to 100%
E. many = more than 2/more than few. Option E distorts the meaning, therefore incorrect.

I choose A over E because:
+"as + noun" when it states function. Meanwhile, the meaning of the whole sentence doesn't relate to the function of the subject, it aims to compare.
